HOW IT WORKS 2

WHY USE THE ON DEMAND FORMAT?

We have a creative staff and community to offer an array of classes and workshops. We want you to be able to choose what class you

want to take when you are able to take the class.

We want you to be able to get together with a few friends and have fun

learning something new and we know everyone has busy schedules - so we want to fit your schedule instead of the other way around.

WHAT DOES “ON DEMAND” MEAN? Just like “on demand” television programs, you may choose a class or workshop that you want to take and schedule it according to your calendar. You call or email us and let us know what class you would like to take and when. We will work with you and your schedule to make the class happen for you.

If you contact your friends before you contact us, and organize a time you would all like to take the same class together, then contact Maker Space 307 about your chosen class and dates we will make that work for you and your friends.

Here is an example of how it works:

One Person Class: You alone are going to take a class to learn how to cut vinyl lettering or decals using graphics software and a vinyl cutter. This class will cost you $50, you pick the 3 hour class time and date and if we are not already scheduled for that time and date you take your class.

Group Class (3 or more people): You want to to take a class to learn how to cut vinyl lettering or decals using graphics software and a vinyl cutter. However, you really don’t want to spend $50 and/or you also think this might be fun to take with a couple of friends. You contact your friends, figure out when you can all find 3 hours to take the class together, contact Maker Space 307 and if we are not already scheduled for that time and date you and your friends take your class at the group rate of $30 each.

Every class or workshop will list the number of hours necessary for the class, and the single and group rates for the class. Group rates are available for groups of 3 or more. We cap classes at 6 or 9 depending on media and process. Along with the number of hours necessary for a class there is a suggested format, i.e.: 6 hour class, recommended to divide into 2 or 3 sessions. This would mean choosing 3 - 2 hour sessions, on 3 evenings, or 2 - 3 hour sessions which could be two evenings or two Saturdays, or 3 hours one morning with a lunch break and 3 hours in the afternoon. We will work with you to meet your needs and the needs of your group.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS 3

THIS IS

DIFFERENT! We agree - this is a different way to think

about taking classes and workshops.

We are willing to try new things all the time at Maker Space 307. We think there

are enough enthusiastic makers out there to want to try this more user friendly process.

This kind of turns the whole process upside down, instead of a top down scheduling process it is a

bottom up grass roots system.

We are willing to try new things - hope you are too.

1 - READ THROUGH THE LIST OF CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS MAKER SPACE 307 HAS TO OFFER. The classes and workshops listed here are not the only classes we have to offer. Maker Space 307 members or friends may have a class they would like to have offered - let us know and we can usually make it happen. You may be a very talented maker, artist, DIY specialist etc. and have an idea for a class - let us know and we can add you to our list. Also, from time to time we will host a visiting artist or visiting maker and those occasions will have a set schedule and will not be offered on demand. Like us on Facebook to stay informed on new class developments

2 - CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO TAKE, EITHER ALONE, WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY. Every class will list the cost of a One Person Class and the cost of a Group Class (3 or more people). If you are taking a class as a One Person Class - just call or email us to set up your class. If you want a group rate and want to take the class with family or friends and you have 3 or more people; confirm dates and times with them, then call us or email to set up your class.

3 - YOU MUST PREPAY FOR YOUR CLASS. WE DON’T WANT TO HIRE STAFF AND BUY MATERIALS AND HAVE NO ONE SHOW UP. We are sorry - but we have to collect in advance so we are not left holding the bag. This is no different than any other class you have signed up for.

‣ We will accept cancelations that are made 4 days in advance, with a full refund.

‣ We will also happily change the date for you with no fuss if you contact us 4 days in advance.

4 - SCHEDULING AND CONFIRMATION. ‣ Call 307-335-3848

‣ Email [email protected]

‣ Classes need to be scheduled a week in advance so we can have the necessary materials on hand.

We want to make this work for you. Please keep in mind that we take time off for holidays and one week end a month.
