One of the latest in our lineup of next-generation technologies is the long-awaited launch of the All-New Accord. For the first time in Malaysia, car enthusiasts will experience Honda’s latest Earth Dreams Technology engine incorporated in the Accord 2.4L which offers increased fuel and performance efficiency. The luxury sedan also comes with many new smart features that you can read about inside this issue of With Dreams.
We have also been seeing a heightened market acceptance towards Honda Hybrids, more so after we announced another “first” in Malaysia - a price reduction of hybrid batteries and its extended warranty period of up to 8 years with unlimited mileage. This comes shortly after we successfully rolled out our own locally produced Jazz Hybrid from the Melaka plant late last year.
As part of our mission to bring hybrid technology closer to Malaysians, we are also running national on-ground activities like the Honda Hybrid Family Road Trip 2013. The campaign will be ongoing till December. Meanwhile, the Great Honda Hybrid Discovery is currently running online and offers opportunities for Malaysians to have an extended test-drive period with Honda Hybrid models. Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. unveiled the world premiere of some concept models from both Acura and Honda at the recent Auto Shanghai 2013. The Honda showcase was jointly hosted by Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., which saw the debut of the Concept M, a new value MPV, and other new models from both companies.
There were plenty to feast the eyes on as the company revealed their direction to bring value-added innovations catered specifically for the Chinese market. “We believe that our role is to initiate actions to create new things and carve out a new and fun future together with our customers,” said Seiji Kuraishi, President of Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd.
The Concept M is undergoing mass-production development now and is set to be ready to launch by next year. Designed by the Automobile R&D Centre of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. in Japan, the MPV will bring new value to the fun of driving enhanced with a more comfortable and spacious cabin built from Honda’s packaging technologies.
Honda fuses good looks, practical qualities and innovative new values to continue driving growth in the dynamic China market.
Honda debuted the world premiere of Concept M, a next-generation MPV that is an epitome of comfort and elegance.
The Li Nian S1 is the facelifted model of the first original brand ever produced through a joint venture with an automobile company in China.

The mass-production versions of the Concept C and Concept S were introduced as CRIDER and JADE respectively. The CRIDER’s design is based on the image of a dragon, with the middle-class sedan featuring an energetic exterior and a dynamic performance. Meanwhile, the versatile JADE reflects the stunning image of a jade stone with an elegant exterior that captures the stately qualities within. Both models are scheduled to go on sale this year in China.
Under the Acura showcase were some equally exciting concept models on display, which included their super sports model, the NSX Concept and the Acura Concept SUV-X, the first for Acura to debut a concept model outside of North America. While the mass production model of the Concept SUV-X will take place over the next three years, a Chinese version of the Acura RLX, introduced at the motor show, is currently being sold exclusively in China. The luxury flagship sedan is equipped with the new 3.5L direct-injection SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine and Precision All-Wheel Steer.
Other mass-production models showcased by Dongfeng Honda were the CR-V, Civic, Sprior, Elysion, Insight and CIIMO. From Guangqi Honda, their displays included the Accord, Odyssey, City, Crosstour, Fit, CR-Z, Fit Hybrid and the minor model change of Li Nian S1, an original brand vehicle by the company.
“Honda will continue proposing automobiles that offer new value to our customers in China. At the same time, Honda, Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda will work together closely to further localise the development, procurement and production of Honda products in China,” added Mr. Kuraishi.
The JADE was designed with the younger customers in mind and aims to match their energy and passion.

onda Builds first Wind poWer station in BraZilh
The company will become the first automaker in Brazil to operate an entire production plant from renewable energy generated by the wind farm.
A wind farm is underway at the Honda Automóveis do Brasil Ltda. (HAB), the Honda automobile production and sales subsidiary in Brazil, as the company takes its environmental commitment further. HAB had earlier announced its plans to invest in wind power generation to produce renewable energy as a measure to minimise environmental footprint in its business activities.
Setting an exemplary leadership in environmental and energy technologies, HAB established Honda Energy do Brasil Ltda., a new subsidiary that will specialise in wind power generation and to manage all areas related to Honda’s wind power generation business in Brazil.
“Ever since Honda began local production in Brazil in 1976, Honda has been cooperating with the local community and striving to minimise the environmental footprint of our production activities. Wind power generation has proven to be very effective in reducing CO2 emissions,” commented Carlos Eigi, President of Honda Energy do Brasil Ltda.
Through the generation of renewable energy, HAB aims to cover the entire electricity needs of the plant for automobile production, reducing its CO2 emissions by staggering numbers. The wind farm is expected to start running in September 2014 and is currently under construction in the city of Xangri-lá in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state in Brazil (approximately 1,000 km south of HAB’s automobile production plant in Sumaré, São Paulo).

Honda’s new racing hybrid is akin to a lab on wheels, with research and tests intensifying at every race.
MHonda expanded its role in the Super GT Championship this year by supporting two private racing teams, TEAM MUGEN and AUTOBACS RACING TEAM AGURI, supplying them with Honda’s latest innovative racing hybrid system, the CR-Z GT. The CR-Z GT is made to stringent specifications of SUPER GT regulations under the GT300 class and fully maximises the potential of both the engine and regenerative energy from the electric motor.
While it retains the body of the mass production sports hybrid, the chassis is redesigned to fit a roll cage around the body with a monocoque shell as the base. Meanwhile its original drivetrain has been replaced with a twin turbocharged 2.8 litre V6 engine, which has a proven track record at winning the LMP2 class of the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2012.
Honda developed the MUGEN CR-Z GT as part of its continued research in advanced technologies that will lead the company to building more efficient, faster hybrid systems for the future.

Dealer’s Story
K.M. Lim Motor has been receiving a larger slice of the auto market in Batu Pahat recently, after awareness grew of its new 3S Centre location. The company relocated from its three-shoplot facility in Taman Bukit Pasir to a standalone building in Jalan Parit Bilal last year but according to Managing Director, Albert Lim, business only started picking up recently.
“We suffered a 30% decrease in our service intake during our first three months of operations because we moved. Although we are just 5km away from our previous location, it is away from town. We are thankful now that both sales and service has increased tremendously and we are achieving around 5 to 10% more than our previous intake,” he explains.
The bigger and greener facility stands on its own plot of land which houses a showroom, waiting lounge, children’s area, 18 service bays and a car wash and polishing area. The new location can now accommodate up to 120 cars in a spacious parking ground.
“Customers’ comfort is priority here. With our own land, we can design the 3S Centre with customer’s comfort in mind. Not only is the indoor environment more airy and spacious, the car park in front of the showroom and service reception area is also sheltered for the convenience of customers,” he adds.

K.M. Lim Motor caters to customers near and far, including the small towns surrounding Batu Pahat, from Semerah to Rengit, and Yong Peng to Air Hitam. Word of mouth, they say, is the key to selling anything in Batu Pahat.
“It is a small town. Most of our customers have become friends and loyal Honda supporters. Our history goes back to 1985 when our late founder, Lim Kim Ming, started Lim Motor as a used car dealer before he set up K.M. Lim Motor to become a Honda dealer in the Nineties,” he explains.
“We attribute the success of our dealership to his unwavering dedication, having started as a Manager selling Honda’s in the Seventies under a subsidiary of Kah Motor. It is therefore ingrained in all the staff here at K.M. Lim Motor that we should keep a good rapport with our customers to maintain our reputation.”

The Honda Hybrid Family kicked off a nationwide road trip last 22nd June in Queensbay Mall, Penang, where the public was given the opportunity to experience the benefits of driving the Insight, Jazz Hybrid, CR-Z and Civic Hybrid while participating in some fun entertainment on all things hybrid and eco.
Earlier in June, the company had taken a huge step to reduce the price of hybrid batteries replacement by up to 52% and announced its extended warranty period of up to 8 years with unlimited mileage, the longest in Malaysian automotive industry. The Honda Hybrid Family Road Trip is part of Honda Malaysia’s continuous commitment in hybrid education and eco awareness while making its range of hybrid vehicles more widely available to the masses.
More than 5,000 visitors thronged the event where both adults and children alike learned more about hybrid technology through the
Hybrid Treasure Hunt, Tandem Bike engagement activities, Formula-E game and interactive videos. Plenty of other fun activities like the eco bazaar, blood and sugar tests and a kids’ corner with face painting and sand art, among others, were also taking place under the carnival tents while local performers like Altimet, Tengku Adil, Nick Cheung and Danny Wen made appearances to entertain the crowd.
The event presented an ideal opportunity for many car buyers to test drive a Honda Hybrid model while having an enjoyable outing with friends and family. In addition, Honda Hybrid motoring club members were also showcased at the event to share their passions of owning a hybrid.
The Honda Hybrid Family Road Trip 2013 will continue till October 2013 at the locations listed in the table. Come and experience the fun driving Honda Hybrids, take home a Honda merchandise or win many of the prizes from the activities held during the event.

Known for their kite-making skills, most notably the Moon Kite or “Wau Bulan”, the men in Kelantan traditionally flies the kites after the harvest season. Look out for the various types of colourful and intricately designed kites like Wau Kucing, Wau Merak, Wau Jala Budi and Wau Bulan along the way to Pantai Cahaya Bulan.
Wayang KulitAge-old art forms that hint at Kelantan’s culturally rich heritage can be seen in the traditional puppet show known as Wayang Kulit, where ornate puppets are brought to light by a master storyteller using light and shadow play. You can find the puppet makers in Kampung Kemasin, Kampung Parit Pasir and Kampung Kebakat.
Gelanggang Seni Step back in time at this cultural centre where you can watch a variety of traditional performances such as giant kite flying, Wayang Kulit, top spinning, Malay art forms like silat and other musical performers. The Three Markets of Kelantan There are three main markets that have become the “must-visit” stops for any tourists to the city. The Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah (Central Market), Bazaar Buluh Kubu and Wakaf Che Yeh Night Market are shopping havens filled with a variety of local handicraft, antiques, batik, local silverware, clothing and household items. If shopping is not your thing, there are plenty of local delicacies offered by the stalls to feast your heart out.
