NA fully accessible holiday home in Devon for people with disabilities and their families, managed by a small team of people under the umbrella of The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, made possible thanks to the generosity of the Clare Milne Trust.

If you are looking for a fully accessible holiday accommodation with a difference, then look no further than Clare’s House.

Surrounded by stunning Devon countryside and just a few minutes from the sea, Clare’s House (actually a 4 bedroom bungalow!) provides a fully adapted environment for the whole family and is furnished to a high standard. The internal adaptations and equipment provided ensure that your holiday is comfortable and your time spent together is as carefree as possible.

The house itself is situated in large and tranquil gardens, which also house the resident alpacas and plenty of other wildlife such as

squirrels, rabbits, foxes and birds. The perfect place to relax and take in the lovely views. There is also an undercover, heated hydrotherapy pool for the private use of guests.

Clare’s House (also known as Claypitts), is located in the village of Otterton, just a short drive from Ladram Bay and the popular towns of Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth, Exmouth and Topsham.

Otterton, known for its thatched roofs and quaint cob-and -brick cottages, has everything you could need during your stay. As well as a warm welcome you will also find a shop, church, hairdresser, pub, and award-winning cafe, as well as one of the oldest working water mills in the country.

If you would like to venture out of the village, why not visit the Ladram Bay Holiday Park for traditional seaside entertainment including fish and chips, evening bingo and cabaret shows.

About usThe Dame Hannah Rogers Trust - or Hannahs as we are known - is a pioneering charity that has worked with, and championed, disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, for more than 230 years.

Clare was an Ambassador for Hannahs; she was a creative, witty and happy person who loved to entertain people in her house - the fuller the better! After Clare sadly died in 2012 the Clare Milne Trust realised that the sale of her wonderfully adapted house would be a real loss to others with disabilities, and it seemed fitting that it should be opened up for others to enjoy.

Hannahs is thus delighted to be helping to bring this to fruition so that many more people will be able to enjoy a carefree holiday there and create some special memories for themselves in Clare’s House.

The Clare Milne Trust was established in 2002 by Clare Milne. It has helped many smaller charities with their work for people with disabilities in, or close to, Devon and Cornwall. The Trustees are delighted to be providing a lasting legacy for Clare through Hannahs, offering this beautiful house for individuals, carers and families to enjoy a much needed break.
