ED4000/ED5000 Series Delayed Egress Exit Device

The delayed egress option providesadditional security and safety in astrong line of panic hardware. Thedelayed egress exit device is anelectromechanical device used tosecure interior or exterior openings.The option is available for rim,SecureBolt, concealed vertical rodand mortise devices in all standardfinishes.

OperationThe exit door is normally closed andlatched. The Delayed Egress ExitDevice “D” secures the door in thelocked mode with the solid Red LEDindicating locked mode status.Depressing the push pad for less than3 seconds will sound the nuisancebeep without initiating the alarm.Depressing the exit bar for 3 secondsor longer will initiate an irreversiblelocal audible beeping tone and avisual amber indicator until thedevice releases. After the delay timeof 15 or 30 seconds the devicereleases, the LED changes to Green,and the alarm changes to a steadytone which continues to alarm untilmanually reset by key. The remotemonitoring contact outputs can beused to alert security personnel. Theperson depressing the exit bar isdenied egress for 15 or 30 secondsand security personnel are alerted. Note: The 15-second time delay isstandard. 30-second time delay isoptional (may be accepted by localjurisdiction).

Applications • For use on hollow metal, wood or

composite interior or exterior doors.• BOCA options available to comply

with National Building Code requirements. BOCA option is not suitable for installations in accordance with NFPA 101.

• 1-3/4" door thickness standard; 2 and 2-1/4" optional; specify D200 or D214 when ordering.

• Standard 36" device fits 36"doors only.Device cannot be cut less than 36".
