Labour Insight pros and cons
•Very useful to be able to compare data from different time periods to show changes and trends •Helps us to provide local LMI down to LA level which is what advisers want •Also useful for sub-regions as can support local LEPs and other sources of data •Skills data helpful for advisers and clients when thinking of additional training or education •Useful Active Informatics e-newsletter gives ideas for different ways of using data and new developments
•Only shows jobs advertised online, not by other means •Some anomalies encountered with geography, ie an area of Barnsley, South Yorkshire called St Helens, confused with St Helens in Lancashire, but quickly dealt with by LI team •Concern re reliability of some reports, as high number of agency vacancies that don’t list employers or industry
