content driven sites are all based on users being active While facebook/myspace can be a small “ book” on
yourself and you life Wikipedia does the same for “ topics” CJReport aims the same for news
Is this a good idea? … CNN started is citizen journalism website, ireport. Raw Tibet news made into Time.com. During Nepal popular uprising, up-to-date information
was delivered to people. S ocial monitoring… and the idea of everyone being a
witness What else…?
Why/History CJReport grew from CJNepal. CJNepal served as a citizen media during then K ing
Gyanendra’s direct rule. Gyanendra deployed army and police in media houses and
news was censored. Umesh S hrestha, a blogger suggested we do something. S o a Citizen Journalism website was created.
From Nepal to the world! Laurent V an Winckel, long time friends suggested taking
it to the next step… making it bigger. We co-founded CJReport!

Currently… Currently we are using a V irtual Private S erver from
M ediatemple… Lets look at the stats… Costs about $100 a month on the server… What could be done?
What else? We need money… How to get money? We need an investment proposal, so we can get people to
invest on CJReport.
