Some very important Civil Rights leaders of the the 60’s were Martin Luther King, Jr., John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson.

Sample JournalPresident Lincoln should be considered a Civil Rights leader for the 1800’s because he took a stand for the African-Americans in our country. In his Emancipation Proclamation, he declared that on January 1, 1863, all slaves in the Confederacy would be “forever free”.
