EXPECTATIONS FOR THE PARTNERSHIP

Design the curriculum to meet international standards and a four year format

Enable eight NU faculty members to earn their graduate degrees

Implement the format and instruction for year one of the Engineering degree at NU

Provide consultation on the acquisition of instructional resources at NU

OUTCOMES TO DATE Two NU faculty will complete their graduate

degree through SDSU by August 2011 Six NU faculty will complete their graduate degree

through Cracow University of Technology by February 2012

Curriculum approved, with SDSU support, for ABET accreditation and Ministry of Higher Ed approval

Curriculum has been developed for 90% of the contracted courses

Instructional/technology resources have been acquired for many of the courses at NU

manner for the NU faculty to study in the US

Transitioning from a five year to a four year curriculum

Mentoring and coaching of the NU faculty when they are teaching individual courses

NU Faculty trained at the doctoral level Qualified staff to provide continuous technical

support for the instructional resources Academic/administrative approvals of the

degree conversion from five years to four years and the use of the semester credit hours

Testing of the individual courses and refinement in at least a second iteration

Continued development of NU faculty at the graduate level – especially new faculty

Appropriate compensation & incentives to retain NU faculty after acquiring their graduate degrees

Development of instructional skills and use of instructional technologies

Time – three years is insufficient for changes
