cultural and language activities.

Glebe ParkACT Playgroups 10am - 3pm

Playgroups ACT will be running the following family fun activities on Sunday including:

• Paint and Play• Craft from around the world• Traditional baby play• Multicultural music and movement• Global rhythm• Inclusive sensory play

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community will be showcasing Aboriginal history and culture in Glebe Park. Activities include:

10am• Basket weaving (ages 10 and up)12pm• Boomerang making and throwing (ages 10 and up)2pm• Performing arts (all ages)2pm• Art canvas (all ages)

Roll the dice and see the story unfold… The Cubby House of Tales is an interactive experience made up of stories from diverse local communities. Engage with roving performers around the festival or come inside our cubby house in Glebe Park on both Saturday and Sunday (1pm-3pm) and hear a tale from our young performers - but expect the unexpected. As multicultural children would understand, sometimes stories can get muddled up, but they are all connected, as are we.

Sunday 23 February Civic Library12pm - 4pm

• 3.10pm Adam Liaw: Hear renowned cook Adam Liaw talk about his heritage, family background and how he became a cook

• Bilingual Story Times: drop in to hear stories read in Thai, Arabic and Hindi

• My Two Blankets story and craft: Listen to the story of My Two Blankets and then paper weave your own language blanket

• Sprawl and Draw: be inspired by saree and mandala patterns to design and colour your own

• Name badge: Make a multilingual name badge. (ACT Community Language Schools)

• Language Jenja: A game of skill with wooden blocks and a special language twist. (ACT Bilingual Education Alliance)

ACT Playgroups 12pm - 4pm

• Cultural craft• Building a village

• Baby friendly space

Family Spaces is a partnership between Community Services Directorate, Canberra Museum and Gallery, Libraries ACT, ACT Playgroups, ACT Community Language Schools Association and ACT Bilingual Education Alliance.

Enjoy Bilingual Story Times and fun with languages at Civic Library (Saturday and Sunday), drop in musical instrument making and language activities at Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) (Saturday), family fun activities with ACT Playgroups at Glebe Park (Saturday and Sunday) and hear renowned cook Adam Liaw talk about his heritage, family background and how he became a cook at Civic Library.

In addition, this year we are excited to have local members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community showcasing Aboriginal history and culture in Glebe Park on both Saturday and Sunday.

Facilities for children and their families will also include a welcoming space for infant feeding.
