Now that things are starting back we want to make sure everyone is up-to-date on MinistrySafe. If you will be serving in any ministry with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults you will need to take the MinistrySafe Training and fill out the needed paperwork. If you have taken MinistrySafe Online Training in the past and will need to have it updated, be

watching for an email from the church with subject line “Awareness Training.” For any information in regards to Ministry Safe please contact Laurie at 817-284-9371 or [email protected]. Minis-try Safe is a required abuse prevention system for all churches in the Central Texas Conference. If you have not taken MinistrySafe training in the past and plan to serve in any of the areas with chil-dren, youth and/or vulnerable adults contact Laurie and she can start you on the volunteer process.

Thank you to all those that have taken part in this program to serve in these important roles at the church.

Community Meal Wednesday, November 17 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

I cannot believe it's time to start collecting donations for this year's drive- through Community Meal. This year we will be giving out food boxes with more food in it for all Binion families. Each food box will cost $30.00. We plan to hand out 200 food boxes. We are asking for money donations so that we can make sure every box has the same amount of food in each one and that way we can also buy in bulk. Make your donations to the Community Meal Food Box. For more information contact Sharma.

HUMAN RELATIONS OFFERING Funds help support neighborhood ministries through Community Developers, community advocacy through United Methodist Voluntary Services and work with at-risk youth through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Programs.

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING OFFERING Funds help lay the foundation for all UM Committee on Relief (UMCOR) by covering the costs of doing business. This means all contributions designated for specific programs can go 100 percent to those programs because UMCOR’s basic expenses are covered. By giving to UMCOR this allows response for local and global relief.

NATIVE AMERICAN MINISTRIES OFFERING Funds help to develop and strengthen Native American ministries in the Annual Confer-ences, Native American rural, urban, reservation ministries and communities relating to the General Board of Global Ministries. It also provides scholarships for Native Americans attending United Methodist schools of theology. This fund is distributed by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministries.

WORLD COMMUNION OFFERING Funds are used for scholarships for young scholars and seminarians. Donations equip racial and ethnic-minority students in the United States and international students to transform the church and communities. One half of the proceeds from the offering is for World Commun-ion Sunday Scholars administered by the General Board of Global Ministries. The remaining one half is to be used for the Ethnic Scholarship Program and the Ethnic In-Service Training Program, which are administered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.

CONFERENCE SPECIAL ASKING ~ MONTH OF OCTOBER

This Special Offering for October will go toward six Special Asking Offerings for 2021. You can choose the ones you wish to give to and label your giving as preferred or you can give just to Special Offering and the funds will be divided equally among the six offerings. For more information about each see below.

UNITED METHODIST STUDENT DAY OFFERING The funds received from the offering go into the United Methodist Student Loan Fund to underwrite scholarships for United Methodist students. Currently, there are over 70 scholar-ships available for United Methodist students. The fund is administered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM). Students can apply for scholarships or loans at gbhem.org/loansandscholarships.

PEACE WITH JUSTICE OFFERING Peace with Justice is a faithful expression of shalom in the Bible. It calls the church to strengthen its capacity to advocate publicly in communities and nations throughout the world. It aims to make shalom visible and active in people’s lives and communities by setting people free from bondage.
