INTRODUCTION
PROJECT GOALS
2014 ESRI UC | City of San Diego Water Transmission Pipeline Condition Assessment | July 16, 2014
Identify critical pipes/segments
Prioritize pipes for inspections
Prioritize pipes for rehabilitation
Establish a defendable/repeatable process
4
SETTING THE FOUNDATION
Created 100’ Pipe Segments
Reconciled stationing
Created unique Pipe ID Numbering System for this project (yet maintained City’s FSN)
Kearny Mesa PotableCity’s original SPLASH GIS
After pipe segmentation

USEFUL TIPS
Develop consensus on proposed Risk Factors
Exporting CMMS data and historical information can be difficult, but worth the effort
ArcGIS Online is a very useful tool for encouraging user engagement with the data/results
Asset Management has many “pieces” but it is important to focus on “putting the pieces together” –resulting in a prioritized CIP!
