COMPLETE STREETS AND GREEN STREETS
The Complete and Green Streets Program applies a natural systems approach to beautify neighborhoods, encourage multiple modes of transportation, calm traffic, reduce stormwater, and improve water quality through innovative design and diversion principles.
ANCHOR DEVELOPMENTS The Joplin Senior High School/Franklin Technology Center is a 66 acre site that is currently under construction. The state-of-the art education and training facility will provide high quality programming and hands-on learning experiences to students.

The 20th Street overpass will be partially funded by a $12 million TIGER grant awarded to Joplin by the US Department of Transportation. The overpass will help eliminate vehicle delays at the railroad crossing as well as long delays and route changes for emergency vehicles.

The Joplin Creek Restoration will heal a parkway stream and create a pond, providing additional recreation and multi-use trail connectivity across the recovery area.

ANCHOR DEVELOPMENTS The Consolidated Government Office Facility (200,000 sq ft) and the Mixed Use Residential Over Retail/Commercial (150,000 sq ft) will help revitalize South Main Street and help anchor the western edge of the 20th Street Corridor.
ANCHOR DEVELOPMENTS The Union Depot restoration will be an anchor of the SPARK program (Stimulate Progress through Arts, Recreation, and Knowledge of the past). Plans also include a performing arts center incorporating spaces suitable for various types of productions, a visual arts center, an outdoor amphitheater and related office spaces designed to encourage and stimulate the creative culture in Joplin.
