Dear Crystal Lake Resident,Starting May 1, 2018 the City of Crystal Lake has contracted Prairieland Disposal and Recycling to be yourservice provider for unlimited weekly refuse, recycling, yard and food waste collection, including one bulk item. We are an environmentally conscious waste hauler serving the greater Lake, McHenry and Cookcounties and are excited to provide service for a cleaner, greener Crystal Lake!

Our mission is to provide the residents of Crystal Lake with honest service-oriented collection. We take waste reduction seriously. Our state-of-the-art collection truck is a “ONE-PASS” truck, which collects two materials at the same time – garbage and recycling. Collecting two materials in one truck decreases the amount of fuel and energy used, as well as reduced traffic and emissions on roadways and neighborhoods. This truck is also designed to be lighter than other rear load or front load refuse trucks that most disposal companies use. Prairieland Disposal will provide these benefits to your neighborhood:

• Service will include a 95-gallon toter for unlimited residential trash pick-up and a 65-gallon toter for unlimited recycling. Extra toters are available to rent, contact Prairieland direct for additional toters. • Toters must be out by 7:00 A.M. on the morning of your scheduled collection. • To accommodate our One-Pass truck, please separate toters at least 3’ away from each other, and 5’ from stationary objects. • Pick up day will Remain the Same. • Service includes unlimited yard waste and compost; all organics will be recycled at a state-licensed compost facility. Yard waste pick-up will also occur on the same day as your regular pick-up day. Yard waste service will run annually from April 1st to the second full week of December. • Food organics and pet/dog waste/kitty litter will be accepted in the yard waste programs. No plastic or bio-degradable bags will be accepted. • Our experienced friendly drivers operate clean, environmentally friendly trucks that run on Bio-Fuel reducing emissions. • Free electronics drop off at our recycling facility in Lake Barrington - one TV or monitor. • Curbside electronics pick-up, limit 1 TV or monitor per home, twice per year.
