LIMINAL STATESZack Parsons

Terry Gilliam’s Brazil meets Kurt Vonnegut in this science-fiction novelthat’s part of a revolutionary multimedia project with separate onlinematerials produced exclusively for the novel including videos, music, original artwork, and serial fiction.

Liminal States is a literary and visionary tour de force. It’s a stand-alone science-fiction novel that’s part of a revolutionary multimedia project, which includes

separate online materials, including original artwork, serial fictionto appear on the popular website SomethingAwful.com (the 44th most popular blog in the world) and fictional websites (of fictional businesses and characters from the novel),and videosproduced exclusively for the novel. Additionally, a musician will release a soundtrackalbum based on the content of the book at roughly the same time as the book goes on sale.

In the tradition of Kurt Vonnegut’s darkly satirical sci-fi characters or Anthony Zuiker’s interactive thrillers, Liminal States features a pair of protagonists who are duplicatedover and over again from the 1870s to the present day, who are effectively immortal.Their existence will have a dramatic effect on American and world history with subjectiveglimpses of the altered world, websites, and a serial narrative that lays the foundationfor the novel.

• The Internet presence will be launched from a six to ten article serial story similar to an ARG (alternate reality game) and told from a perspective and in a style different from the book.

• The online material (different from the material in the novel) will include fictional articles written from the perspective of someone within the world of the novel but not one of the main characters.

• These articles will be presented on Something Awful and archived both on that site and on a separate site devoted specifically to the fiction.

Other material will include blogs or personal Web pages of fictional characters from theworld of the novel, including links to external sites. The external links and sites will offerfurther clues and tantalizing information. These will include products only available in this reality, references to historic events that did not occur, and news articles aboutdead celebrities who still exist (or have been resurrected) in the present day of the novel.

T he Importance of Being Ernie is an open, no-holds-barred look into the joys and sorrows of the Hollywood survivor’s experience, from child star to struggling actor.

Along with nearly 30 never-before-seen photos, actor Barry Livingston shares his inspirational journey of one man’s willingness not to give up in a ruthless business and talks honestly about the ups and downs of stardom.

At the age of eight, Barry Livingston was already in demand as the “kid next door,” beingfeatured in movies and popular sitcoms, such as The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,The Dick Van Dyke Show, and The Lucy Show, and in movies like My Six Loves with DebbieReynolds and Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys! with Paul Newman. In late 1963 he joined thecast of the hugely popular situation comedy My Three Sons in its third season as ErnieThompson Douglas, the adopted son of Steve Douglas (Fred MacMurray). Barry’s real-life older brother, Stanley, was already appearing on the show as middle son, Chip.

Barry remained with the show for ten years, until it was canceled by CBS in 1972. Hemanaged to land parts in a few TV series and made-for-TV movies but found himselftypecast as Ernie Douglas…and the call-backs stopped coming. Like many child starswho are big stars one day and has-beens the next, Barry turned to drugs. He was another casualty in an industry littered with the ghosts of child stars who couldn’t make the transition to adulthood in Hollywood.

Ultimately, he wouldn’t give up on his chosen profession, and now, at the age of 57, he’sfirmly established himself as a hardworking and reliable character actor. He’s appearedon Mad Men, Two and Half Men, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Monk, Big Love,Crossing Jordan, Will and Grace, The West Wing, and more. He is a favorite of directorDavid Fincher and had a featured role in the box-office smash The Social Network. Adam Sandler, also a fan, cast Barry in Don’t Mess With the Zohan.

Though he has never quite recaptured the stardom he enjoyed for ten years as ErnieDouglas, Barry is content to remain steadily employed in the business he loves. As Barry says, “I’m not going away.”

OUTLAW BIKERMY LIFE AT FULL THROTTLE

Richard “Deadeye” Hayes with Mary Gardner

Bike culture is back, as evidenced by the popular Golden Globe award-winning television series Sons of Anarchy, which dramatizes the outrageous, outlandish, and over-the-top tales of biker life. Thisopportune reissue follows a legendary outlaw biker who actually livedthe wild ride…with the scars and tattoos to prove it.

Outlaw Biker is the true-life, bad-ass, balls-to-the-wall story of Richard “Deadeye”Hayes—a member and eventually president of the infamous Los Valientes

Motorcycle Club. Between riding, drug dealing, and sending men to the hospital with his bare hands, Deadeye made himself a legend among bikers—all the while makingsure his daughters never got mixed up with guys like him.

In his own words, Deadeye tells it all. From stealing a machine gun before he was sevento losing his left eye when a good friend shot him in the face, from earning his colorswith an outlaw motorcycle club to a lifetime of drugs, sex, violence, and crime, this ishis story: true-to-life and full throttle all the way.

Outlaw Biker is a unique, larger-than-life story—one that has never been told, butwhich will have broad appeal to anyone who has ever been in awe (or in fear) of themotorcycle gang image in all its tattooed glory.

“Colorful, fast-paced, and fun.”—Kirkus Reviews

It is an understatement to saythat Deadeye enjoys adventure and values a sense of humor. He currently serves as president of the Los Valientes Motorcycle Club. He lives in South St. Paul, Minnesota.

THE 100A RANKING OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS IN HISTORYREVISED AND UPDATED EDITION

Michael H. Hart

Informative and entertaining, the hugely popular reference book that ranks the 100 people who had the greatest influence on human history—reissued for a new generation of Millenials and Gen X’ers.

T HE 100 is a collection of incisive biographies that ranks the 100 people who havehad the greatest influence on human history. These are the people who swayed the

destinies of millions of human beings, determined the rise and fall of civilizations, andchanged the course of history. Hart wasn’t interested in the greatest people of all time or which people made the most positive contributions to humanity; his focus was on the100 people he believed had the greatest impact on world history.

In 1978, when Michael Hart’s controversial book The 100 was first published, criticsobjected to his gall in selecting who he thought were the most influential people in history, but also to ranking them according to their importance. Needless to say, the critics were wrong, as proven by the over 100,000 copies sold, its translation into 17 languages, and its rights licensed throughout the world. Hart believed that in the intervening years the influence of some of his original selections had grown or lessenedand that new names loomed large on the world stage. “There were giants in the Earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of Godcame in unto the daughters of men and they bare children to them…” Genesis 6:4

For almost 5000 years, the pyramids and similar structures in Mexico and Cambodiahave taunted scholars with their cryptic secrets and astronomical significance—who

built these world wonders and how? Buried in ancient Hebrew texts, undiscovered andlargely ignored by scholars, lies a wealth of information about a mysterious and littleknown race of people, giants, called the Nephilim—sons of God who coupled with mortals, and their children—the true builders of the pyramids and other great monuments of ancient history.

The true identity of the builders was only half the story—by examining age-old prophecies with the aid of science Heron was able to discover the true purpose of thepyramids. His astonishing findings, thoroughly and engagingly explained in The Nephilimand the Pyramid of the Apocalypse, address the importance of the pyramids and their significance in predicting the coming Apocalypse. These pyramids hold the answer to the question man has been asking since the beginning of time: when and how will theworld end? It may be sooner than you think…

“For fascinating research regarding the Pyramid of Egypt and the Nephilim of Genesis,Patrick Heron’s book stands supreme.”—Dr. I.D.E. Thomas, bestselling author of The Omega Conspiracy

• The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse was originally self-published and sold more than 25,000 copies, becoming a hot-seller for Amazon.com, never ranking below the 3,000 mark in its 13 months on-sale.

• The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse was the subject of a two-hour PAX-TV special of the same name.

• Will appeal to fans of bestsellers like The Bible Code and The Bible Code II: The Countdown by Michael Drosnin and Chariots of the Gods by Erik Von Daniken.

PATRICK HERON was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1952, and has a B.S. and M.A. inBusiness Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. In 1997, having recently become interestedin Bible prophecy concerning the “end times,” Patrick published his bestselling bookApocalypse Soon.
