Circle Drive Reconstruction Project Advisory Mayfield Road to East 116th Street (Ward 6)

Tuesday, January 2, 2018

CLEVELAND – Road improvements will begin January 2, 2018, with the Circle Drive

Reconstruction Project spanning from Mayfield Road north to East 116th Street. The initial

phase of the project will include the installation of all underground utilities and traffic

signal support foundations.

Sewer work on Mayfield Road only will be performed during non-rush hour times between

the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to limit disruptions to the traveling public. Two-way

traffic will be maintained (one lane in each direction) on Mayfield Road. Access to Circle

Drive north of Mayfield will be limited and access will need to be scheduled in advance with

the City Contractor. The duration of the sewer work on Mayfield Road is expected to last

approximately one week.

The project extends approximately 400 feet north from Mayfield Road to East 116th Street

and approximately 400 feet east on Mayfield Road. The improvements include new

pavement, drainage, asphalt resurfacing, installation of Americans with Disabilities Act

compliant ramps, curb and sidewalks, new pavement markings, and pavement widening on

the north side of Mayfield Road. The work will take place during daytime hours from 7:00

a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The project’s construction cost is $1.268 million and is scheduled for completion by July 31,

2018.

Should there be any questions, please contact the City of Cleveland Project Manager, Angela

Sanchez, P.E. at 216-664-3654.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are

urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top

priority.
