On 23.2.2017 officer of Cyber crime Cell, CID, WB held raid at Champdani areaunder PS Bhadeswar and apprehended two (2) accused persons namely VivekSrivastav and Rakesh Chowdhury in c/w uploading of obscene picture and videoof lady and sending obnoxious message to her and making her indecent proposalby accused persons.

2. Reference :- Kotwali PS case No. 119/17 dated 19.2.17 u/s370(5)/420/417/468/120B/34 IPC r/w section 75/80/81 of JJ Act of 2015.The case was started on the written complaint from Smt. Kakoli Ghosh Kundu,Inspector of Police, O/C of POWC, CID, Bhabani Bhaban, WB to the effect that on18.2.17 at about 13.40 hrs she along with her team held raid on the basis ofspecific information at Keranipara, under PS Kotwali, District Jalpaiguri andarrested one Chandana Chakraborty, who runs a specialized adoption agency,namely NBDPC and was involved in the business of child trafficking that buyingand selling of children for the sake of monetary gain. On the leading statement ofChandana Chakraborty, she further arrested Sonali Mondal d/o Jivan Mondal ofDebi Nagar, under PS Maynaguri, District Jalpaiguri. On interrogation, theyconfessed that there are in this business for last 10 years and has sold more then70 children’s. They hadbeen trafficking new born babies throughout India andadded that some of the medical officers are also involved in the racket. Thepregnant women taking shelter in their home are some time cheated after thedelivery by saying them that their children are dead. Accused Juhi Chowdhury(28) d/o Rabindra Nath Chowdhury of Assam more, PS Kotwali, district Jalpaigurialso arrested on 28 .02.17 in c/w the above noted case.

Kedar Biswas of village Baikunthadeb Road, PO + PS Madhyamgram,North 24 parganas (iii) Prakash Chatterjee (40) s/o Badal Chatterjee of village Ghola CBlock, PO Sodepur, PS Ghola, district North 24 parganas ans seized 118 Gas Cylinder(Indane & HP gas) from the possession of the arrested persons. These gas cylinder were usedfor illegal business.

c) Reference :- Balurghat PS case No. 75/17 dated 17.02.17 u/s 21C/25/29 of NDPS Act.

On 17.02.17 officer and force of Dakshin Dinajpur DD, CID, WB held raid at Balurghat PSarea and arrested 02 persons namely (i) Snehanshu Ghosh @ Laltu s/o Lt. Himangshu Ghoshof Dipalinagar (ii) Ajit Ghosh s/o Lt. Ramgopal Ghosh of Narayanpur, Balurghat and alsoseized 16800 bottles of phensidyl (worth Rs. 31,08,800/-) from the house of Nantu Ghosh ofDipalinagar, Balurghat.

d) Reference:- Raidighi PS case No. 41/17 dated 10.02.2017 u/s 370/120B IPC & 3/4/5/6/7/9ITPA.On 10.02.2017 officer and force, CID,WB held raid at Hotel Mahamaya, Raidighi, South 24Parganas. The hotel owner Krittibas Kapat with the help of one Dilip Chatterjee and RathinSwar (manager & staff of the hotel) used to procure few girls for commercial sexualexploitation at the same hotel. The officers and forces arrested accused persons namelyKrittibas Kapat and 05 others. They also rescued 06 victim girls in c/w this case.

e) Reference:- Bhaktinagar PS case No. 132/17 dated 8.2.17 u/s 272/465/468/420/120BIPC.

On 8.2.17 officer and force of SS (North) office, Siliguri, CID, WB held raid at the factory ofone Om Prakash Chowrasia of South Ektiasal under PS Bhaktinagar. The accused OmPrakash Chowrasia was running a business of manufacturing and selling spurious gutka inthe brand name Tamana without any valid license for such business. The officers and forcesarrested 02 persons namely Praful Chand Thakur and Ajoy Singh and seized spurious Gutka– 1,44,000 pouch, 900 kgs of raw materials, blank 22 No. of pouch pack from theirpossession.

f) Reference:- Sonarpur PS case No. 2611/16 dated 7.12.16 u/s366A/370/370A/372/373/120B / 34 IPC and r/w section 3/4/5/6/7/9 ITPA Act, 4/17 ofPOCSO Act.

On 10.2.17 officer and force of AHTU Cell CID, WB held raid at Thakurpukur PS area andarrested accused persons namely Rintu Mondal, Sarbani Mondal and Jaya Majhi they alsorescued three (3) minor girls. It was found that Joy Mondal used the minor girls forcommercial sexual exploitation. Over this a separate case was started at Thakurpukur PS

vide Thakurpukur PS case No. 52/2017 dated 9.2.17 u/s 366A/368/370/109 IPC &3/4/5/6/7/9 ITPA Act.

g) Reference :- Bandel GRPS case No. 9/2017 dated 22.2.17 u/s 51 of Wild life protectionAct, r/w section 120B IPC.

On 22.2.17 Officer & force of SOG cell CID, WB held raid at Bandel Railway Station areaand arrested two (2) accused persons namely Tutia & Rajen, both of Gandhi Nagar, PSJagdishpur, Dist. Amithi, Uttar Pradesh. The accused persons trafficked live Indian soft shellturtles of different shape and size from Uttar Pradesh to different place of West Bengal. Theofficers of CID, WB seized 174 pieces live Indian soft shell Turtles from the possession ofthe accused persons.

h) Reference:- Dankuni PS case No. 86/2017 dated 22.2.17 u/s 21(C) /25/29 NDPS Act.

On 22.2.2017 a raid was conducted by the officer and force of Narcotic cell, CID, WB andarrested accused namely Shiv Kumar Sukla, Md. Nasim and Ashok Shil and also seized twovehicles having Reg. No. WB- 23D-1628, WB-23C-5192 along with 32100 bottles ofphensedyl from their possession.

i) Reference:- Kotwali (Nadia) PS case No. 321/16 dated 5.5.2016 u/s419/420/406/465/467/468/469/471/472/474/475/120B/34 IPC.

The case in brief is that one Shyamal Dutta who disclosed himself as CEO & President ofBio Chemic Education Grant Commission Service being a fake notification. He used to runthe office and fake medical court at Bakshi Lane, Bow Bazar, PS Kotwali, Nadia by usingcounterfeit seals of Govt. Of India, having national emblem, mark sheets, fake educationaldegree medical certificates in lieu of money. He was also running a court beside his officepurportedly to be fake for the purpose of cheating to the common people in the society. Thebusiness of the accused indicates malafide intention to dupe people at large by issuing fakeeducational certificates in lieu of money. Six accused persons were arrested in c/w this case.On 21.2.17, officers of Anti Cheating and fraud cell, CID, WB has frozen Bijoya bank A/CNo. 606801011000067 of the accused Rishi Raj Meena where cheated amount of Rs.5,56,000/- was deposited

j) Reference :- Kaliachak PS case No. 155/17 dated 27.2.17 u/s 21 NDPS Act & 25/27Arms Act.

On 27.2.17 officer and force of Malda DD, CID, WB held raid at Kaliachak PS area andarrested one accused person namely Ahed Molla and seized 22 grams of Brown sugar, onepiece 9mm improvised pistol with 6rds ammunition from his possession.

One Bithika Dutta w/o Bidyut Dutta of Kalyan gram, PO- Bengal Enamel, PS Titagarhlodged a written complaint to the effect that on 27.1.2017 at about 02.00 hrs 6/7 unknownmiscreants entered into the complainant’s house and committed dacoity in respect of Rs. 4,5lacs and 10 bhori gold ornament. During investigation the IO of the case arrested thefollowing accused persons.

(1) Saidul Islam (37) s/o SK Chunnu of Ruiya Paschim Para, PO Patulia, PS Khardah, North24 Parganas.

(2) Md. Sayed Hossain Khan (32) s/o Md. Mofaiz Khan of village Sagdah, PO. Panikuria,PS Kalanua, district Satkhira, Bangladesh A/P Munshi Mondal Road, PO. Talpukur, PSTitagarh, North 24 Parganas.

(3) Umar Ali Sardar (41) s/o Muslim Ali Sardar of Bhekutia, PO. Kapilshwarpur, PSSwarupnagar, North 24 parganas.

l) Reference:- Khardah PS case No. 158/17 dated 19.2.17 u/s 302/201/120B IPC.

One Jui Bhattacharjee w/o Jayanta Bhattacharjee of Kulinpara, gabtala, PO BD Sopan, PSKhardah, North 24 Parganas to the effect that on 17.2.17 at about 21.00 hrs thecomplainant’s husband Jayanta Bhattacharjee a astrologer by profession, went out of hishouse to meet his client at Sodepur and since then he was missing. Later the dead body ofJayanta Bhattacharjee was found in a pond at Kalyannagar near Sishu Uddyan under PSKhardah. Over this incident Jui Bhattcharjee submitted a complaint suspecting one MitaAcharya, assistant of Jayanta Bhattacharjee and her husband Samar Acharya behind themurder of her husband.
