Good morning, and welcome to worship and fellowship as the body of Christ!

Be thoughtful, honor God and welcome one another. Before the service, speak to God; During the service, let God speak to you; After the service, speak with all.

(*Congregation standing, if able.)

PRELUDE arr. Anna Laura Page “Holy Is the Lord” with “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High”

GREETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS * CALL TO WORSHIP (Based on I John 4:4-16) Leader: We come from God, and we belong to God! People: We have already won a big victory over the falseness of the world, for the Spirit when in us, is far stronger than anything in the world! Leader: Let us continue to love each other since love comes from God! People: Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God! Leader: God has given us life from His life, God’s very own Spirit! People: So let God’s Love take up permanent residence in our lives. May his grace and love have the run of the house, and become mature in us! WORSHIP SONGS (Congregation: Please sing along. Words will be projected onto the screen.) * “Almighty, Most Holy God” * “Indescribable”

PRAYER (Unison): Good and gracious Lord and Savior, love is a very challenging endeavor for all of us. It is never safe, always requiring our best, often asking for huge sacrifices. It takes our time and our lives. When we love, we may quickly find ourselves “falling,” and it is oh so scary. While dark clouds may gather around us, now is no time for us to leave or give up. For your love is greater than our worried hearts. At times love feels unkind, and we may feel it is breaking us. Where the end begins, help us find our true lives. May we find ourselves in you and lose the control we so desperately cling to, finally letting go and trusting in you. Help us to start again; help us to lose what we don’t need, so that we are claimed by what is most important. Your love is not easy, but it is oh so good. Thank you. Open up and exercise our hearts in love this day, and every day. And may we always be faithful to your Heart in ours. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. CHILDREN’S MESSAGE JOYS & CONCERNS PASTORAL PRAYER - LORD’S PRAYER (unison) PRESENTATION OF OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS OFFERTORY – Tom Breneisen & Dave Eichler “Power of Your Love” * DOXOLOGY…….………………………………………….…….…......No. 95 WORSHIP SONGS (Congregation: Please sing along. Words will be projected onto the screen.) * “What a Beautiful Name” * “10,000 Reasons” (“Bless the Lord”) SCRIPTURE I John 4:7-19 MEDITATION “A Mature Run of the House” * VIDEO “It’s Good” (Side Walk Prophets) * CLOSING HYMN “Take My Life, and Let It Be”………No. 399 * BENEDICTION * POSTLUDE “A Festive Piece” David Lowe

MISSIONS At the April 6, 2017 Administrative Board meeting last year it was approved to financially support Tim and Tina Wolgemuth (who will be serving in the USA) for one year in their mission work with Ethnos360. Missionaries serving in the USA play vital roles on the church planting team such as training, accounting for and transferring gifts, recruiting missionaries and informing and involving churches and individuals. Missionaries are responsible to raise financial support to pay their salary and ministry expenses, looking to God, trusting only in Him to provide through His people. There have been some requests from the congregation to print the address where contributions towards Tim and Tina’s mission work with Ethnos360 can be sent. If you wish to make a contribution, checks must be made payable to Ethnos360 - please write TIMOTHY (NOT TIM) & TINA WOLGEMUTH on the MEMO line. Checks can be sent to: Ethnos360, 312 W. 1st St., Sanford, FL 32771 You can also go online and give electronically. Visit : https://ethnos360.org/missionaries/timothy-and-tina-wolgemuth THE UPPER ROOM for May and June 2018 is available in the narthex. Cost is $1.00.

REACH FUNDRAISERS

ISAAC’S COMMUNITY DAY FUNDRAISER: Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Flyer that you will need to take with you is inserted in today’s bulletin.

MEMORIAL DAY FOOD STAND: The Reach Work-campers will have a food stand for the Memorial Day Parade Saturday, May 26. If you would like to donate bottles of water (16 oz.) or cans of soda for the food stand, please contact Pam Doughton at 717-314-5611 – or drop off in the office. Thank you!

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MAY TRUSTEE: If you notice something that should be taken care of by the trustees in May, please contact Mark Myers at 717-587-4686. Thank you, Bruce Stone, for your faithful service in April!

SPRING CLEAN UP & CHANGEOVER: Saturday, May 12 beginning at 8:00 a.m. the Trustees will be having a “Work Day” to summarize (start up the main air conditioner, install window units in the windows, etc.) and to spruce up the flower beds, lawns and areas outside. All help – no matter how much time you can give – will be greatly appreciated. You do not have to be a trustee to help.

ADOPT A FLOWER BED: The Trustees are asking for assistance with weeding the flower beds around the Church property. Zones have been identified in order to create smaller, easy to maintain areas so the beds can be kept tidy without a lot of time commitment. Mulch, Preen and other weed sprays will be purchased and applied by the Trustees. It is only your time and labor that is being requested. Please consider “adopting a flower bed” (you can partner with others if that works for you) to help with the beautification of our Church. A signup sheet is on the bulletin board next to the water fountain at the rear parking lot exit.

MOWING: As in the past few years, the trustees are looking for volunteers to mow the grass at the church. (This saves money by not hiring a lawn service.) A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board – where the “Adopt a Flower Bed” signup sheet is located. Or see Mark Myers.

CARING HANDS & HEARTS VENDOR FAIR / YARD SALE: Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please see the insert for more information and to sign up! COUNTRY FAIR & MARKET - CRAFTING SESSIONS: We are collecting used Christmas cards for a craft being made for the Country Fair & Market. There is a box in the narthex where you can place them or you can give them to Marcia Brooks. May crafting sessions to prepare for the Country Fair & Market will be held at the home of Marcia Brooks on the following dates: Tuesday Morning, May 8, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday Evening, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. Come and join in the fun and fellowship. Everyone is welcome!

MEMORIAL DAY SUNDAY – MAY 27, 2018

WINDOW DECORATIONS: Sunday, May 27 we will celebrate Memorial Day Sunday by remembering the deceased veterans of Glossbrenner. The Commission on Worship/ Decoration Committee is planning to decorate the sanctuary window sills with pictures, memorabilia, etc. of deceased military men and women. If you have items of a family member or friend who served in the military and would like to decorate a window sill with the items, please see Jackie Roberts.

FLAG BEARERS: The Commission on Worship is looking for two flag bearers (preferably former or current military) to carry the American flag and the Christian flag to the front at the beginning of the service. Please see Jackie Roberts if you are willing to do this. (Uniform would be nice, but not required!!)

SENIOR RESIDENTS’ BREAKFAST The Donegal School District would like to invite our senior residents to attend a breakfast on Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Donegal High School cafeteria, 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m., and breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. followed by musical entertainment featuring our students. There is no charge for this event, but donations will be accepted. Reservations are required. To reserve your spot contact Stephanie Manuel at 717-492-1302 or email [email protected] by Friday, May 4, 2018.

Sidewalk Prophets Lyrics

"It's Good (Love's Not Safe)"

Dark clouds gather 'round There's every reason to back down Your excuses are running out But now's no time to leave Just tryin' to walk the line It's not enough to get by All it does is keep you blind But if you truly want to see Turn and face the wind Let the storm begin Love's not safe at all Love might let you fall Love's not easy But it's good, it's good, it's good Love will take your time Love might feel unkind Love will break you But it's good, it's good, it's good Oh it's good It's ok to start again You've got to lose to win And right where the end begins That's where you find yourself Losing all control Finally letting go

Love's not safe at all Love might let you fall Love's not easy But it's good, it's good, it's good Love will take your time Love might feel unkind Love will break you But it's good, it's good, it's good I know it's good Anything good in life's Gonna take a sacrifice Don't let up when it's tough Don't ever give up the fight [x3] Everything you need in life Was given by his sacrifice I will give it all to you I will give it all to Christ He's not safe at all He might let you fall He's not easy But He's good I know He's good He will take your time He might feel unkind He will break you But He's good, He's good, He's good I know He's good He's good, He's good, He's good He's good, He's good, He's good I know He's good He's good, He's good, He's good I know He's good He's good, He's good, He's good He's good
