Join Us in These Weekly Prayer Opportunities:� Monday through Friday & Sunday, 6:00-6:45 a.m.−Focusing on seeking the Lord for revival and specific needs of the congregation (communication card requests). There is leadership Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday the church is open for private morning prayer.� Wednesdays (except first Wednesday of month)−A special prayer gathering for those not involved in small groups or whose groups meet on other nights. This group intercedes for revival, the ministries of the church, and beyond.�Thursday−Intercession for our Community: Unite with a dedicated interdenominational group, Bond County Prayer Initiative, that prays for our community on Thursdays, 8:00-9:00 a.m. During October this work of prayer will occur at Greenville Free Methodist Church, 1367 Illinois Route 140, Greenville.�Every Friday−Noon-time Prayer−(12:00-12:55 p.m., A103) A time to join with others to seek the Lord for the outpouring of His Spirit for revival in our church and community. Some are fasting lunch or all meals for the day to invest in this special time of unity before the Lord. Consider what the Lord would have you do.

October is Pastors' Appreciation Month: Thank you to Pastor Doug, Pastor Greg, Pastor Carl and Pastor Tom and their families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings theybring to our church. Like to paint? Desire to serve? We need volunteers to stain the Grade School playground before the winter season. Also, the wall across from the LOFT needs to be painted. Ties to Cowden FMC? Our congregation has been invited to join the Cowden Free Methodist Church for their 130th anniversary celebration on Sunday, November 20, at 2:30 that afternoon. For those who have ties to this church/pastor/people – put that date on your calendar now.

Aldersgate Marriage Encounter is planned for November 11-13 at the Day's Inn in Vandalia. All married couples can benefit from this step-by-step program designed to strengthen communication. Take time out for some R & R and draw closer to each other and closer to God. Registration deposit of $100 is due by November 1. Registration forms may be picked up at the church office.

Greenville College is taking a mixed group of adults and students for a study experience in Israel on January 1-24, 2012. On October 12 the FMY will be assembling CARE packages for students who graduated last year. Many of them are away at college and ALL of them would enjoy a CARE package from home. There are three ways that you might help us: 1) Write a note to one of the students listed below; 2) Give us some shoe boxes to pack our goodies in; and 3) Give us some money for both the ‘stuff’ and the postage (you can make a check to: Greenville FMY). Baptism Sunday: If you would like to share an outward expression of your personal faith in Jesus by being baptized, the next opportunity will be Sunday, October 23, during our morning worship services. Please contact the church office, 664-2584, if you would like to be included.

All Ladies are invited to join the Wednesday Morning Bible Study beginning in November for one of two studies: Kay Arthur's book, Lord, Teach Me to Pray (book required−cost $10); or Beth Moore's study on Living Well (no book). Contact the church office by October 28 to order a book. The new studies will kick off with a brunch here at the church at 9:00 a.m. on November 2. The Prayer Band is comprised of people committed to GFMC being a bona fide "house of prayer"

through consistent involvement in personal and corporate prayer, continuous training in prayer modes and ministry, and constant readiness to serve in one of many prayer ministries in the church(e.g. altar ministry, freedom in Christ counseling, rescue teams, etc.)
