Wednesday, February 26, is Ash Wednesday. Our schedule is:

Beginning on February 26, Ash Wednesday, we will begin to

have Mass every Wednesday at 8:30 A.M. in English. Our

school will be invited to attend when their schedule allows.

After Mass we will have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in

silence until 11:50 A.M. All are invited to make a half hour

commitment to pray for vocations, peace in the world, all who

are suffering, greater care of the planet, etc., and our own per-

sonal intentions. You can make your commitment on the sign

up sheets at the entrance to the church. If we have many who

respond to this Mass and Adoration time, we will continue to

have the Mass and prayer time.

Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent are days of fast and

abstinence. Fasting means limiting oneself to one full meal and

two smaller ones. Only those 18 to 59 and in good health are

obliged to fast. Abstinence is abstaining from meat and poul-

try. All 14 and up are obliged to abstain from meat and poultry

on Ash Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent.

The young adults (18-40) will meet today, Sunday, February

23, at 3:00 P.M. in the rectory.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 5, we will have the Stations of the Cross in English at 5:00 P.M. in the church. Beginning on Friday, February 28, we will have the Stations of the Cross in Spanish at 11:30 A.M. in the church. On Friday, February 28, there will be a Lenten reflection in

Spanish in the church at 10:45 A.M. On Friday, March 6, at 10:45 A.M. there will be a Lenten reflection in English. All are is Invited.

There are bilingual booklets with reflections for each day of Lent at the office. We ask a donation of $1.00. The Evangelization group, those involved in evangelization pro-grams in our community, meet on the first and third Saturday of each month at 4:00 P.M. in the rectory. On Saturday, February 29, at 5:30P.M. in Neumann Hall the young adults will host a “Sip and Paint”. Cost is $25.00. Refresh-ments provided. Come and have fun while you paint. Pay on the day. The Mexican Coalition donated a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Immaculate Conception Church. The statue will be blessed today, February 23, during the 11:00 A.M. Mass. We thank the coalition for their generosity and thoughtfulness. The Cardinal’s Appeal has begun. Every parish is asked to do their part in assisting the Archdiocese with their programs: ed-ucation, charitable works, the seminary, and the care of sick priests. Our goal this year is $30,500.00. Some of you have already received letters from the Cardinal. During this week-end, February 22 and 23, all will have the opportunity to donate or make a pledge. If all of us do our part, we can reach our goal.

March 15, from 12-6pm there will be a Day of Reflections for youth ages 13-17 years old, in Neumann Hall. Please register at the office.

El sábado, 29 de febrero a las 5:30pm en Neumann Hall, los jóvenes adultos (18-40) tendrán un “Sorbo y Pintura”. El cos-to es $25.00. Habrá Refrescos. Ven y diviértete mientras pin-tas. Pagar en el día. La Coalicion Mexicana dono una estatua bonita a la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepcion. La estatua va ser bendecida hoy, 23 de febrero, durante la Misa a las 11:00am. Le damos gra-cias a la coalición por su generosidad y bondad. La Campana del Cardenal comenzó. Cada parroquia es pedi-do que haga su parte en ayudar el arquidiócesis con sus pro-gramas: educación, caridad, el seminario y el cuidado de los sacerdotes enfermos. Nuestra meta es $30,500.00. Algunos de ustedes han recibido cartas el Cardenal. El fin de semana de 22 y 23 de febrero todos van a tener la oportunidad para donar a la campana o hacer un compromiso.

Si quiere ser un monaguillo, ujier, lec-tor, ministro de la Santa Comunion, o

miembro del coro, deje su nombre y numeo de teléfono en la oficina. Si quiere cantar en el Coro para la Misa de la Vigilia Pascual hay practica cada sábado a las 2:00pm en la iglesia. Comenzando el miércoles, 26 de febrero, El Miércoles de Ceni-za, vamos a tener una Misa en ingles a las 8:30am. La escuela va ser invitado, si su horario le permite. Después de la Misa tendremos la Adoración de la Eucaristía en silencio hasta las 11:50am. Todos están invitados a hace un compromiso a que-darse con Jesús por un medio hora para orar por vocaciones, la paz del mundo, todos los que están sufriendo, el cuidado de la planeta, etc. y nuestras propias intenciones. Hay hojas en la entrada de iglesia donde puede hacer su compromiso. Si bas-tante gente responde, vamos a continuar ofreciendo esta Misa y tiempo de oración. El Miércoles de Ceniza y todos los viernes durante Cuaresma son días de ayuno y abstinencia. Ayunar es limitarnos a una comida completa y dos comidas sencillas. Todos los adultos en buena salud de 18 a 59 anos de edad son obligado a ayunar. Abstinencia es no comer carne y pollo. Todos de 14 anos y adelante son obligados a abstenerse. El viernes 28 de febrero, a las 10:45am en la iglesia habrá una reflexión en español sobre el tema de la cuaresma. El viernes, 6 de marzo, a las 10:45am habrá una reflexión en ingles sobre la cuaresma. Todos están invitados. Comenzando el miércoles, 5 de marzo, tendremos el Via Crucis en ingles a las 5:00pm en la iglesia. Comenzando el vienes, 28 de febrero, tendremos el Via Crucis en español a las 11:30am en la iglesia. El grupo de Evangelizacion, los que están envueltos en proyec-tos de evangelización en la comunidad, se reúne el primer y tercer sábado de cada mes a ls 4:00pm en la rectoría.
