Dear Parishioners,
The Paschal mystery is at the very heart o f
our Christian faith. The word scripture and
the life of Jesus on earth culminate in this
unique event. Indeed, every Eucharist is a memorial of
Christ’s Death and Resurrection. Yet once each year
the Church sets aside an entire week to commemorate
the astonishing realities of that first Holy Week.
May your loving participation in the week’s liturgy en-
able you to live more deeply the Life emptied on Cal-
vary and risen on Easter Sunday. The growth of
Christ’s Life in His people is the vital element in His
Father’s design.
May the peace and joy of the Lord’s Easter Life be with
you and yours forever.
Sincerely in Christ, Rev. Jovito B. Carongay Jr., Pastor
Rev. Kyrian C. Echekwu, Parochial Vicar

Introduction to the Liturgy of the Word
Today we hear the joyous news from Saints Peter,
Paul, and John, each of them attesting to the Easter
event. Saint Peter, speaking to a group of non-
Christians, testifies to Christ’s life, death, and resurrec-
tion. Saint Paul writes to the Colossians and the Corin-
thians about what they should do in the light of Jesus’
resurrection. Saint John, in writing the Gospel, tells of
the first disciples finding the empty tomb on Sunday
morning. As we listen, may we sense the joy and won-
der of these first witnesses.
