Sharing the Faith

Faith is a gift from God that we received on the day of our Baptism, but faith is also a virtue that we need to nurture and increase. We grow in the virtues when we practice them. We grow in faith when we learn more about our faith. All learning could be self-taught, learning in a class or similar, or learning from others.

But our faith is not only knowledge, our faith is overall an experience, a way to respond to God, a way of living our Christian life. For this reason, we become stronger in our faith when we listen to the testimony of others, when we learn how other people like ourselves are living their Christian life and responding to God’s love.

The small groups we are starting in our Parish are

precisely that: the right environment to learn, to listen, to grow, to share our faith. Give yourself an opportunity this Lent! Give God an opportunity

this Lent! Take the Lenten Challenge!

LA LITURGIA OGGI Porgere l'altra guancia è un detto universale, conosciutissimo, anche se, forse, poco esercitato. Eppure, non è il più scioccante del Vangelo, a

paragone di un altro comando: “Amate i vostri nemici”. Questo è davvero un unicum del cristianesimo. Gesù sta spiegando la giustizia del

regno, finora inchiodata al principio dell'“occhio per occhio, dente per dente”, mostrando che la più grande è quella che risponde al male con il bene, qualunque sia il torto. La legge del taglione

sospendeva la violenza con una pena uguale a quella subita, e tutto finiva lì. Noi vorremmo imparare da Gesù a riaprire la storia, ad offrire un'alternativa:

non opporsi, porgere, lasciare, fare, dare, amare. Questo rende perfetti. Gesù è l'esempio più chiaro: muore in croce perdonando gli uccisori e

consegnandosi al Padre, vero albero della vita. Porgere la guancia non è subire, ma è un'azione forte che mette in questione e interpella con forza

Fe compartida

La fe es un don de Dios, un regalo que recibimos el día de nuestro Bautismo, pero la fe también es una virtud que debemos hacer crecer. Crecemos en las virtudes cuando las practicamos. Crecemos en nuestra fe cuando aprendemos más sobre nuestra fe. Todo aprendizaje puede ser de manera autodidacta, asistiendo a clases o similares y aprendiendo de otros.

Pero nuestra fe no son sólo conocimientos, nuestra fe es sobre todo una vivencia, un modo de responder a Dios, un modo de vivir nuestra vida como cristianos. Es por esto que fortalecemos nuestra fe cuando escuchamos el testimonio de otros, cuando conocemos cómo ellos están viviendo su vida cristiana y respondiendo al amor de Dios.

Los grupos pequeños, que estamos iniciando en la parroquia son precisamente esto: un ambiente adecuado para poder aprender, para poder escuchar,

para poder crecer, para poder compartir nuestra fe. ¡Date una oportunidad en ésta Cuaresma! ¡Dale una oportunidad a Dios en ésta Cuaresma! Acepta el

desafío de Cuaresma.
