Some random thoughts by the pastor…
Our Gospel reading from MaShew this weekend can easily put us off. Jesus demands that he be loved more than family and friends! Truth be told … we are capable to feel love for another but it is usually condi'onal. As oLen happens, our first approach to most anything originates in us. If we look at the various teachings of Jesus we begin to see that Jesus seldom originates in himself. He almost always speaks of God flowing through him; the love that he shares with others originates in God and not in himself! God is good.
