The 7-day National ServiceScheme (NSS) camp 2017-18 organ-ised by the NSS unit-II of Y BChavan College of Pharmacy con-cluded at the Dhopteshwar village onJatwada road on February 8. Thisyear’s theme was ’Swacch NirogiAbhiyan.’
The valedictory function waspresided by principal of Dhopteshwarschool Mahindra Barwal in presenceof Dr Dhakre, president of ZP schoolKuduwa. In a gesture of gratitude thevillagers hosted lunch for the NSSteam. Barwal said that the villagersbenefitted a lot from the healthhygiene awareness rally.
During the week-long camp,around 140 patients were examined infree health check-up camp, 95 vil-lagers eye check-up test was done, tentrees were planted with properguards. Besides, the team undertookactivities like cleanliness drive, per-sonal hygiene rally, food and sta-tionery distribution in school, creat-ing awareness for digital transaction.
Around 107 inmates of Matoshreeold-age home were examined and freemedicine were given to them.
The sarpanch of the village PoonamChavan was the chief guest and NSSdistrict coordinator Sharad Gawandewas the guest of honour for thecamp’s inauguration. DhopteshwarSchool principal Mahindra Barwal,Dr Dhakre, NSS coordinators werepresent at the inauguration.
Speaking at the inauguration, thesarpanch thanked the students for vis-iting the village. She said that suchcamps are the dire need of the village.The village students need higher edu-cation beyond the primary school.Every year more such camps shouldbe organsied, she added.
The best NSS volunteer award wasgiven to Rupesh Khalse and ShaikhHuma Raheem. The students of thirdyear B Pharm conducted the campunder the guidance of principal DrZahid Zaheer. NSS programme offi-cers Altamash Ansari and NikhilSakle, Syed Iftequar and Nahid Chistimade efforts for the success of thecamp.

YB REPORTERA cleanliness drive was undertaken at
Daulatabad Fort by the National ServiceScheme (NSS) unit II of Y B ChavanCollege of Pharmacy, here on February9, 2018.
The drive was organised under theguidance of divisional commissionerPurushottam Bhapkar and Bamu’s NSSdepartment director Dr TR Patil underthe Maha Swachh Abhiyan.
Various students from 14 other col-leges also participated in the drivewhich started at 6.30 am on Friday.

YBCCP bags eight prizes in NPW inter-college contests

Y B Chavan College of Pharmacy bagged eight
prizes during the National Pharmacy Week cele-
brations that concluded on February 2. This
year the theme of the celebration was ’Know
your medicine: Ask your pharmacist.’
All pharmacy colleges in the city participated in
six inter-college competitions namely street-
show, elocution, poster competition, Powerpoint
presentation, caption writing and article article.
All the competitions were based on the theme.
The event-wise winners at the inter-college
competitions are:
Street Show: Trend-setters Group (1st prize),
Elocution competition: Snehi Ambadkar (1st)

RYLA 2018 winners make YB proud again

While the excitement of winning eight awards at
inter-college competitions during the National
Pharmacy Week celebrations was still felt on the
campus, our another team won a slew of awards at
the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA-18). We
ar proud of the following winners in various events.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Snehi Ambadkar: Miss RYLA, Best leader, winner of
group discussion. Mohammad Talha: Mr RYLA
Best model: Faizan Ansari
GROUP AWARDS:-
Snehi and Talha: Best team, runner up of talent night,
runner up of poster presentation and winner of dream
project.
Urja Moon and Rohini More: winner of tower mak-
ing and winner of quiz buzz.
Shivani Kolhe and Manasi Joshi: runner up of dream
project and runner up of AdMad.
Vishakha Deshmukh, Faizan Ansari, Zareen Syeda,
Pragati Avhale: winner of Poster Presentation, winner
of Talent Night, winner of paper dressing.

Samruddhi Ausekar and Siddique Aburehan: runner
up of tower making.
Two-day workshop on Effecive English Communication and Study Abroad was conducted for the final and third year students on February20 and 21. Around 50.students participated in the workshop. The topics which were discussion included how to face interview, group dis-cussion and public speaking etc. The students interacted with the speaker and got their queries answered. The topic of second day’s lec-ture was ‘Study abroad’ in which the students were guided on preparation for competitive exams, English tests, things to consider whilefilling admission forms in foreign universities and how to apply for scholarship, etc. the resource person was Mr Amit Bagchi, director ofInstitute for Education and foreign languages.
Workshop on Communication Skills
YB REPORTERInternational Women’s Day was celebrated at Y
B Chavan College of Pharmacy on Dr Rafiq
Zakaria Campus, here today. The event was
organised exclusively for female faculty members
and students.
Chief guest Dr Manisha Kakde (Gynaecologist)
delivered a talk on women’s health. Renowned
swimming coach and first-aid trainer Haleema
Siddiqui was the guest of honour. She encouraged
the audience on women empowerment. The inau-
gural programme was followed by felicitation of
staff and students who made remarkable achieve-
ments at the State-level in respective fields.
Girl studenrs presentsed various cultural events
to mark the day. The cultural programmes were
followed by lunch.
The students thanked chairperson of
Maulana Azad Education Society
Padmshree Fatma Rafiq Zakaria and
principal of YBCCP Dr Zahid Zaheer
for organising the event.
The event was managed by the
Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)
and Cultural Committee comprising
Maria Saifee, Reshma Toshniwal, Neha
Quadri, Durreshwar and Sabina Shaikh.
All faculty members and non-teaching
staff made efforts for the success of the
event.
All the girl students attended the event
in the college auditorium.
Achievers feted on Intl Women’s Day

The College recently secured Platinum cat-
egory in the sixth edition of the AICTE-CII
Survey 2017 for Industry linked Technical
Institutions.
The survey was conducted by the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and
All India Council of Technical Education
(AICTE). The institution secured the highest
Platinum category for scoring more than 30
marks, ranked among the top 8 pharmacy institu-
tions out of 91 which participated in the survey.
This year the survey was conducted in two parts -
namely short and full surveys in which the insti-
tutes were scored on the basis of governance, cur-
riculum, faculty, infrastructure, services and place-
ments. Principal Dr Zahid Zaheer said that it is dif-
ficult to get such ranks but it is more difficult to
maintaining the same is the future. “Our efforts to
get better rank will continue in the future.”
