Chronic fatigue syndrome also known as CFS is a disease, condition or disorder which is characterised by intense fatigue or tiredness which fails to end even after proper rest, and physicians fail to explain the situation through an underlying medical condition. Chronic fatigue syndrome may also be referred by some physicians as systemic exertion intolerance disorder (SEID) or myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

The reason behind the occurrence of chronic fatigue syndrome isn’t properly understood. Some researches incorporate a viral infection, psychological strain, or a mixture of reasons. Since not a single reason has been recognized, and because a number of other diseases show similar indicators, it becomes quite hard to diagnose chronic fatigue syndrome. You will find no tests or assessments for CFS, so your physician will have to rule out other causes for your constant fatigue. This is the reason that you should only visit an expert doctor to get treatment for chronic fatigue.

In the past chronic fatigue was considered as a controversial condition and many physicians failed to identify its presence. However, things have changed drastically and now CFS is a recognised medical disorder. Anyone can get affected by CFS, regardless of which age group they belong or healthy they’re.  However, chronic fatigue is more prevalent among people who have 40 years of age, especially women. Chronic fatigue syndrome treatment should only be done by an experienced doctor who holds the knowledge to successfully diagnose and cure the patient suffering from CFS.

What Causes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? The exact reason for CFS is still unknown. Scientists and experts state that viruses, weak immune system, hypertension, low blood pressure, and hormonal imbalances can be some of the major reasons behind this medical condition. In some cases, there’s also a possibility that some individuals are genetically predisposed to develop chronic fatigue syndrome.

What Exactly Are The Signs & Symptoms Of Chronic Fatigue?

The signs or symptoms of chronic fatigue differ with every individual and largely depends upon the severity on the disorder. Fatigue is the most common sign of CFS and it is harsh enough to trouble you excessively, hampering your routine and lifestyle. There’s a high chance that you’re suffering from chronic fatigue, if you feel constant fatigue and tiredness for at least six months, also this fatigue and tiredness fails to go away even with proper bed rest. Apart from fatigue and tiredness, other symptoms should also be present to determine whether you have CFS or not.
