I. If You Want to Hear God, LISTEN to Jesus (1-2)

1. God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

2. has in these last days spoke to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”

• 1 Peter 1:10-12,

• “Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you . . . To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.”

I. If You Want to Hear God, LISTEN to Jesus (1-2)

II. If You Want to See God, LOOK at Jesus (2b-3)

1. He is the Divine INHERITOR (2)

Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature, Son of God and Son of Man! Thee will I cherish, thee will I honor, Thou, my soul’s glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fair are the woodlands, Robed in the blooming garb of Spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, Who makes the woeful heart to sing.
