CHRISTMAS CUPCAKE AND BISCUIT DECORATING!

The Shire of Kondinin and the Hyden CRC joined together to deliver the Christmas

cupcake and biscuit decorating workshops for school aged children in Hyden.

We had a fantastic response with both classes full and requests for further workshops in

the future! Thank you to all that came along! as you can see from the pictures below

both groups did a fantastic job in decorating their goodies!

Thank you to the CRC and especially Carol Moutitz and Bev Airey for making this

workshop such a success! They put in so much effort organising both of the workshops.

Watch this space for more exciting school programs coming up in 2015!

Year 4-7 Creations! Year 1-3 Creations!

One benefit of using your

newsletter as a promotional

tool is that you can reuse con-

While your main goal of distrib-

the key to a successful news-

A great way to add useful con-

a child from 1974 to 1979, is looking for some photos of the Kondinin

Swimming Pool and if possible photos of him at the pool. He is also

searching for any records of the Kondinin Swimming Club that might

be available.

HANDBOOK FOR SAFE TOWING AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS

With harvest just around the corner, the Department of Transport has recently published a handbook for

Western Australian farmers - ‘A Guide to the Movement of Towed Agricultural Implements in Western

Australia’. The handbook is a guide to the safe towing of agricultural implements. The handbook is not a

legal document, but rather a simplified version of the road rules contained in the Road Traffic Act 1974 and

Regulations, currently in Western Australia.

If you would like a copy of the handbook you can collect one from the Shire Office or alternatively

contact Tory Young at the Shire Offices on (08) 9889 1006 or [email protected] to have one

posted to you.

Kondinin Lions Club News

The Christmas Lights competition will again be held this year. Last year we had a wonderful array of lights around our towns

and it was a pleasure to drive around in the evening to look at the various displays. Remember a few strands of lights can look great and it all helps

to brighten our town for the festive season. No matter how small or big your light display is , any amount can look effective and make

our town shine bright! Judging night will be advised at a later date.

HARVEST BAN – ARE YOU COMPLYING? The Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES) have advised that when a harvest ban and movement of vehicles ban is placed over an area in the Shire, it is the responsibility of farmers to be aware of the ban and cease harvesting straight away. Continuing harvesting to get the truck full, etc. is in contravention of legislation covering harvest bans and carries a severe penalty. It is greatly appreciated that almost all farmers comply, however it has been brought to my attention that a very small few do not.
