Xixo, pronounced as shee-sho, is Canadas only distributor of Cuadra, a Mexican luxury brand of handmade leather goods with over 20 years of history. Translating to well done in the Nahuatl language of Mexicos Aztec people, Xixo is a family business with three simple goals: to preserve the handmade tradition in leather products, to provide good jobs in Mexico, and to offer unique and quality leather products at a fair price.
The Cuadra collection at Xixo features shoes, boots, jackets, handbags and accessories for women and men that are beautifully handcrafted from premium leather and sustainable exotic skins in casual, dress and western styles in limited quantities. As each product is made with the highest quality materials and unique textures, colours and handcrafted details, Xixo offers affordable luxury that makes a statement.
In a global market driven by mass-produced products, Cuadra remains true to its history and tradition of handcraftsmanship and builds its own personality by combining innovation and crafts. By hand cutting, dyeing, painting, engraving, carving and embroider-ing the leather, Cuadra creates pieces where not only the natural marks of the leather are unique but also the hands of the Mexican artisan who crafts them.
Find Cuadra collection at the Xixo Leather Boutique in down-town Vancouver and online at xixoapparel.com, which offers free shipping within Canada.
Owners Carlos and Mar look forward to your visitMexican hospitality awaits.

VancouVers downtown christmas trees: GiVinG the inValuable GiFt
amid the hustle and bustle of the holidays, the social engagements and the never-ending hunt for the perfect gift, its
important to remember what Christmas is really about celebrating the season with loved ones and being grateful for what we have.
For the past 29 years the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver (791 West Georgia Street) has been decorated with a forest of lush, beautiful trees, all in support of BC Childrens Hospital. The event takes place from November 13 to January 5 and has expanded into the main area of Pacific Centre mall. Each tree is sponsored and decorated by individuals and corporations committed to supporting children who need it most.
Last year more than $147,629 was raised for British Columbia kids, making this the perfect way to get behind the spirit of giving.
The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver (845 Burrard Street) is also celebrating its 10th annual Home for the Holidays Tree Pageant, running from November 21 to January 3. This is a charitable tree pageant whereby local businesses design Christmas trees that are displayed in the lobby of the hotel. Guests can purchase a ballot for $5 and vote for their favourite tree with all proceeds benefiting a great cause, said Sutton Place Hotel general manager Navid Sariolghalam.
All proceeds from the event go directly to PALS Autism School, the only specialized and dedicated elementary and secondary school in B.C. for children and adolescents with autism. We are thrilled to continue to support such an amazing cause that is helping to change the lives of people living with autism.

port Metro Vancouver is also hosting its 28th annual Christmas at Canada Place showcase. The event
takes place outdoors along the Canadian Trail (Canada Place Wests promenade) from December 13 to 31. The Woodwards Windows are a long-standing part of Vancouvers history. Originally displayed in the popular Woodwards department store, the windows featured classic holiday scenes with animated characters and elaborate decor. Handcrafted in the 1960s, the displays included the Candlestick Factory, Santas Workshop and the Lamplighter. Following the closure of the Woodwards department store, Canada Place purchased the displays in 1993 and has continued to incorporate them into the Christmas at Canada Place experience. Donations can be made on site to Strathcona Community Centres Food Security for Children program, and donors will receive a free Canada Place commemorative pin.
Gillian Behnke, manager of community relations and communications at Port Metro Vancouver, said theres something for everyone, all in the name of a good cause.
Similar to last year, visitors will enjoy Christmas tree displays, crafts, a holiday movie tent as well as the Woodwards windows. Each window display contains over 100 pieces and takes over 100 hours to build; however, thankfully you can take in this special Vancouver tradition in a matter of minutes.
