Lace Card Instructions

Items you will need:Fibrous water soluble stabilizerBobbin(s) to windRayon thread that coordinates with the cardstock Precut cards and envelopes (5” x 7” cards for the larger design or 4¼” X 5½” cards for smaller design)Coordinating cardstock for the card layer(s)EmbellishmentsDouble-sided tape or glue to adhere the cardstockLace design of your choice We suggest that you wind your bobbin with the thread you will use when you embroider the lace designs.

1. Wind bobbin with the rayon thread you will use to embroider the design. 2. Hoop two pieces of fibrous water soluble stabilizer using smallest hoop possible and one design per hoop. 3. Embroider the design. We recommend adjusting the tension down (less).4. Trim fibrous water soluble stabilizer close to the design(s).5. Place the embroidered piece in a plate of warm water to dissolve the stabilizer. Pour the water off and let sit to dry.6. Lay embroidered piece on a flat surface to dry further. Press if necessary.7. Trim thread from lock down stitches.8. Print or stamp Christmas greeting inside of card if desired.9. Cut cardstock layer(s). Adjust your paper layers for the card and lace design size.10. Mark the area on the top layer of cardstock where the lace will be attached. 11. Add embellishments.12. Add lace.13. Adhere top layer of cardstock with embellishments to the front of the card.

There is a wide variety of brads but, if you are having a hard time finding a brad that will coordinate with your paper, paint plain silver or gold that you can find at your local office store. • Ribbon–ifthecardislongenoughaddribbontohangthelace design on the tree as an ornament. • Cordingoryarn-stitchthelacetothecardwithcordingoryarn.
