Christian Faithand the Word Of God
Do you believe in God?YES! Would be the answer a majority of us would give…
Most of us would say “Yes we do” because most of us inherit a religion
from birth and we have been educated by our parents, school , friends and society that there is a
God
The good thing is that in almost every religion there is reference to God (as we refer in English language) always as
a divine presence…
At the core of every Religion it is always seeking man to
do good…Yes in every religion.
Mans own interpretations may have changed the
intended message some what… but always at the core
of any religion it is always Good.
We are Christians…Christ followers…
We believe in Jesus AS OUR Savior
As Christians we believe that Jesus is the
Son of God
In John chapter 3 it is said16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life”.
From all of the humanity we Christians are especially blessed by God to have been given Jesus… the
son of God…who carried a special message for
us from God!
As followers of Jesus Christ as we should diligently seek Him…His teachings…the
beautiful example of HIS life…
Why was He here?...What was His message?
Jesus brought us the Gospel of Gods Kingdom…
in other words “the road to achieve God’s kingdom”
Matthew 4:23 tells us that "Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, [and] preaching
the gospel of the kingdom . . .”
Several chapters later Matthew adds, "Jesus went about all the cities and
villages, teaching in their synagogues, [and] preaching the gospel of the
kingdom . . ." (Matthew 9:35).
Luke 4:43 records Jesus saying, "I must preach the Kingdom of God to
the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent."
Mathew 1 – 22 22 All this took place to fulfill what
the Lord had said through the prophet: 23"The virgin will be with
child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"—which
means, "God with us."
Centuries before Jesus' birth the prophet Isaiah wrote of the coming Messiah and His Kingdom:
(Isaiah 9:6-7). "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David
and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even
forever . . ."
Not only did Jesus come to give us the Gospel of Gods Kingdom, He died on the Cross to save all of humanity from further bondage with forces of
negativity… we call Satan (among other words in English language) …
…To give us a fresh start!
By accepting Jesus as our savior and through repentance we can
get redemption for our Sins…Jesus also brought to us the
pathway to reach Gods Kingdom. This message is found in the New
Testament
But how many of us Christians have read and
steadfastly follow the path that Jesus showed us…Have you at least read
through the Four Gospels?
Although we would like to believe that the majority of us as ‘being true followers’… it is not so…those who follow Jesus‘s gospel are
only a fraction…Our degree of faithful compliance to the stated truth in his gospel will vary from
0 to 99%
Look at these statistics…In a recent study carried out states:The percentage of Christians who
have read through the FOUR GOSPELS AT LEAST ONCE – 6%
NOT READ – 94%
In John 14 verse 6 6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth
and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen
him."
If we don’t read the message brought by Jesus…how will one know the way to Gods Kingdom?
Most of us Christians fail to read understand and make it the way of life for us to reach Gods Kingdom.
As a normal trait of human nature most of us would conveniently not have the time to read His gospel…
The few of us who read it don’t faithfully comply to what Jesus has
shown us through God word.
For example in Mark 11 verse 22 it says"Have faith in God," Jesus answered.
23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into
the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him”.
How many of us believe that this can be done?. Due to our human nature we assume that moving a mountain is
impossible. Because we have mentally set human limitations on our selves. But in Gods word He has given us an insight
to what is possible through faith.
Mark 11 - 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the
sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will
be done for him”.BUT how many of us will do this
a. Without any DOUBTb. And in absolute FAITH
BUT how many Christians of can do this a. Without any DOUBT
b. And in absolute FAITH
I'm sure the majority would say it was impossible. Simply because as humans we set our limitations and fail to comprehend Gods awesome power…although Jesus himself has
taken this extreme example and told us that even such an extreme task
was possible if you have faith!
Are we humanly capable of deriving that much Faith?
YES WE CAN…The power of Faith can be found all over the
Gospels.
We only have to Read…Meditate and Abide by
Gods word.
Thank you
