Thanksgiving Sharing Christ the Servant is once again inviting parishioners to help make Thanksgiving a special time for our neighbors in need. The West Suburban Community Pantry supplies us with a list of families needing a Thanksgiving dinner. Parishioners have an opportunity to sign up to provide either a turkey or the rest of the meal (the “fixings”). Signups continue next weekend. Bring your donations to Christ the Servant during the times listed below: NON PERISHABLE FOODS ONLY may be dropped off on Saturday, November 17, from 4-5 pm. TURKEYS and FIXINGS may be dropped off Sunday, November 19, from 8:00-10:00 am.

RITES OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Adults interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, the celebration of Baptism, Eucharist and/or Confirmation are invited to contact the parish office. BAPTISM OF INFANTS Baptisms are usually celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month (except during Lent) at 11:30 AM. A Baptism Preparation Class must be attended if you are planning your first child’s baptism or if three years have passed since your last child was baptized. Call the Parish Office to register and to check whether adjustments have been made to the schedule. MARRIAGE Marriage arrangements must be made at least six months in advance by contacting the Parish Office to set the date and reserve the church. Reserve the church before you reserve the reception hall. HOLY ORDERS: Are you thinking of becoming a priest or religious? Talk with Fr. Bob or email Fr. Steven Borello at [email protected]. RECONCILIATION Available Saturdays from 4:00-4:30 pm (except Holy Saturday), or by appointment with Fr. Bob. Human Development
The Annual Cath-olic Campaign for Human Develop-ment (CCHD) collection is No-vember 17-18, 2018. There was a special enve-lope included with the envelope packets that were mailed for No-vember, or you can use a plain envelope with “CCHD” written on the outside. Please give generously to reach out to the poor and vulnerable in our communities, to reduce poverty, and “help people help themselves” out of poverty. CCHD supports organizations that change the social and political structures that keep people oppressed. These programs support changes in laws that discriminate against people, increase mini-mum and living wages, anti-racism, education, and immigration reform.

Seeds of Peace Announcing Peace Essay Contest 2019
The West Suburban Faith-Based Peace Coalition is sponsoring a Peace Essay Contest with a $1,000 award to the winner, $300 for the runner-up, and $100 for third place. Essays will have to be directed to a person who can help promote knowledge of the Kellogg-Briand Pact and, from whom a response is ex-pected. Essays will be judged not only on the quality of the essay but on the impact of the response. Everyone is eligible to partici-pate; there are no restrictions regarding age or country of resi-dence. By May 15, 2019, send Essay Response documentation to [email protected] with your Essay Number in the Subject line.
Remembering our Dearly Departed During the month of November, we will remember our departed family members and friends. Using either the All Souls envelope included in your regular envelope mailing, or one of the envelopes provided in the Narthex, you may write the names of the people you especially wish to have remem-bered. These names will be included on a “Our Beloved Dead” poster during the month of November (updated weekly), and then in the parish bulletin.
