Every year, former President Jimmy Carter and his wife
Rosalynn, donates one week of their time and building skills to
Habitat for Humanity. They have demonstrated over and over
again their commitment to social justice and basic human rights.
“Habitat for Humanity has successfully removed the stigma of
charity by substituting it with a sense of partnership,” says Carter.
Early in the day, the teams set out to area locations.
On Saturday, October 21st, three teams of church volunteers gave
their time and talent to aid neighbors in our community through
Habitat for Humanity Home Preservation Program, performing
various repairs such as painting, yard work, replacing windows,
and general labor to homeowners who were prequalified for ser-
vices by the organization.
And then again on Saturday, October 28th another team went to
Grove Street to assist with a project that Habitat has been working
on for over a year and a half, assisting with a renovation for a
Mother and her three children.
Homeowners work along side the volunteers putting in “sweat”
equity.
A nonprofit, Ecumenical Christian Housing
Organization active in 1,000 communities and
700 countries works with our Church volunteers
in our community.

man, Carolyn Buckley, Steve, MaryEllen and Jake Whiteley, Joan and
Pamela Woisin, Cassie Shands, Andrea and Elizabeth McQueen, Andy
Gondell, Cheryl McPherson, Livia and Hannable Parish, Sue Freeman,
Chris, Bob and Noel Nelson and Nick Castille.
Christ Episcopal Church is exploring ways to continue working with Hab-
itat to make positive impacts in our local community, demonstrating our
continued mission of compassion and caring for those in need.
A huge “Thank You” was received from the Habitat organization for the
work performed in the three home assigned to us.
