1. When things get tough who and what helps you get through the situation? In what way?

Acts 4:5-142. What tough situation were Peter and John in?

• Why did this happen?

3. Why were the religious leaders so upset with Peter’s preaching?

What questions did the council ask their prisoners?

4. How did Peter and John respond to the leaders command? Why?

Then those who had seized Jesus led him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered.

Isaiah 28:16 …therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’

Describe the dilemma and the decision of the council.

How did Peter and John respond to the council’s decision?

But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. 13 This will be your opportunity to bear witness. 14 Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
