CHRIS O’SHEA MOTIVATION I believe that my experience and track record over the last 29 years as well as my personal capabilities are very relevant to the role profile provided, given my:

1. Strong strategic thinking and vision, but very rational and practical approach to

execution.

I am very comfortable moving between the hands on selling, marketing and people development areas to ensuring that all the different functions actions are focused on building long term success.

I have extensive experience and successes in dealing with boards and senior management on strategic issues and then interpreting this to make it practical for people who have to action them to do this with confidence and motivation.

2. Extensive international brand building and commercial acumen with good

understanding of retailers and ability to build long term partnerships.

I have worked over many years with a number of the largest global retailers directly. At Wine People, our largest retail partner was Albert Heijn and my role in this was to ensure that our full team that works with the account is aligned to deliver world class service, and also make sure that we negotiate the best position for our brands with Albert Heijn. During this time I also had extensive relationships in the UK with ASDA, Tesco and Coop and established a relationship with Walmart and Publix in the USA.

I have worked in and with over 40 countries and have a sound understanding of what it takes to understand cultural diversity and to adapt my approach to develop good relationships and business.

3. Disciplined processes and procedures experience across a number of business

functions with high degree of personal responsibility.

I have worked closely with operations and finance and have full responsibility for making sure that all areas of the value chain are working together from forecasting and planning to financial and business reporting.

My commercial finance experience is extensive and in my Wine People, Cape Legends and Nordics roles have had full bottom line responsibility for the entire business.

In the Nordics I was provided a blank desk and computer and after 18 months a structure and processes was in place that was maintained long after the Diageo merger.

4. Excellence in point of purchase execution and delivering sustainable bottom line

results.

My strongest asset is understanding the point of purchase and focusing resources behind this to ensure that negotiations are not just price based and that internal skills are used to deliver sustainable margins

I work best in an environment where there is a clear and consistent mandate and support from the shareholders to grow the business, but am very comfortable with change and the need to adapt to different situations.

5. Leadership skills with a strong people capability development focus

People capability, effective teamwork and leadership development have been core to the successes achieved in all my roles, but particularly since the change management role in Ireland.

I believe passionately in making people the cornerstone on which a successful business is built and working across line responsibilities on a project management basis and was key to the work done in the Nordics (given the cultural way of working) and extensive time spent in S.A. townships in the early 90’s and working with 220 sales people from diverse backgrounds to turn Smirnoff around.

With regards to my professional aspirations, I have built my capabilities and international market knowledge to facilitate a move into senior general management in a consumer facing and

customer focused business and feel the role advertised where I would need to manage and coordinate all the commercial processes and activities is the type of role that I can focus my energy and enthusiasm for South African products to make a difference and a success of the role. I hope this adds some value to any potential future discussions we may have. In short, I would certainly be open to, and very keen on, any further discussion you may wish to have at the appropriate time and believe that I am well capable of delivering on the aspirations outlined and playing a valuable role. Kind regards Chris O’Shea
