Slaves plow, plant, or harvest.

Some picks 150 to 200 in a day. They couldn’t marry or welcomed in Texas. Slaveholders held them for slave labor in plantations (crops).

Stagecoaches passengers and mail between Texas towns. They were dangerous, difficult, muddy roads, passengers had to help if necessary like fight off bandits, push across a stream or fix the coach.

In 1851, Buffalo, Bayou, Brazos, and Colorado Railway begin construction on the 1st railroad line in Texas.

Harrisburg Railroad charged 5 cents per mile for passengers and 1 cent per mile for every 100 pounds of freight.
