NOBLEMEN

The Noblemen is a one credit hour men’s chorus ensemble that is open to men in the Methodist University community from all disciplines who love to sing and enjoy camaraderie through great music. Music from every music epoch will be performed, from serious to more contemporary/pop a cappella forms.

This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

GRACE NOTES CHORALE CHAMBER SINGERS

Grace Notes is a one credit hour women's ensemble that is open to all women of the University community. Membership includes students from all disciplines that love to sing and enjoy camaraderie through great music. It is intended to provide a foundation in the area of vocal technique while achieving a high standard of excellence in repertoire selected from all periods and musical styles.

This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

As the premier choral ensemble of the University, the Methodist University Chorale consists of approximately 30-36 vocalists and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students are selected through a voice placement process and have likely been active in choral ensembles in their respective churches, high schools, or colleges. Auditions for Chorale can take place at any time to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or graduate. In addition to its regular concert schedule, the Chorale has toured the east coast from Florida to New Hampshire during Spring Break. The group also tours Europe every four years! An annual scholarship of up to $2,000 will be offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.

The MU Chamber Singers octet performs vocal jazz, madrigals, and pop a cappella, etc., and is available for smaller venues around campus and the immediate Fayetteville area. A yearly scholarship of an additional $1,000 will be offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.

The ensemble sings at 3-4 events per semester and membership in Chorale is required.
