Chop saws and Miter saws are terms that typically refer to using abrasive wheels to cut metals (chop) and saw blades to cut wood (Miter).
Don PPE including Safety glasses, hearing protection & work boots. Durable clothing should also be worn.
Dust/metal particles should be immediately removed through a closed vacuum system. If not available a dust mask should be worn.
Avoid wearing loose fitting gloves, clothing or jewelry as this can get caught in moving parts.
Never use saw without a blade guard in place and properly functioning.
Never work with hands crossed over each other. Do not begin cutting until blade reaches full speed. Do not clean dust/chips from behind blade until blade
has completely stopped and machine is off. Before using an abrasive wheel always check for chips
or cracks in the wheel. Replace if broken. Always keep hands and fingers at least 6” away from
moving blades.Always keep material evenly supported/clamped to prevent binding, use fence as a support to hold product still.
To avoid electrical shock, always ensure that power supply is properly grounded using a 3 prong plug and grounded outlet.
