Congrats! You have signed your Housing Contract, which includes a Dining Plan that is good for use at

multiple Dining Services restaurants, markets, and specialty locations across campus.

Our HDH Dining facilities operate like any restaurant or market located outside of campus—decide to

purchase as much or as little as you need, and pay only for those items. This “à la carte” style of service

is designed to provide flexibility, so that you’re not charged a flat rate just to walk through the door.

UC San Diego Dining Services is committed to the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. We are following guidelines set by local, state, and national health officials and we

are consistently evolving to meet current county health guidelines.

We routinely monitor our dining facilities and have implemented the

following additional measures to ensure customer safety.

Here’s what you can expect from us:

WELCOME TO HOUSING DINING HOSPITALITY @ UC San Diego

Table of Contents

New maximum capacities have been established for each dining facility

and market for safe physical distancing.

Acrylic barriers have been installed at each

point of sale to promote distancing between

customers and employees.

Self-service areas have been repurposed to stock pre-packaged grab and go items.

Use of the Triton2Go mobile ordering app is

encouraged. Customers are notified in real time when the order is ready.

Trition2Go reusable containers. Cleaned and sanitized after

every use following all sanitizing protocols.

Staff is required to wear Face covering, follow proper hand hygiene

policies, and be cleared by the University’s symptom

screening tool before reporting to work.

Touch-free hand sanitizer dispensers are located

at the entrances of every dining facility and market.

Designated teams will consistently sanitize

common customer touch points.

Signs and markings are placed throughout the

facility as a reminder to follow one-way foot traffic

and physical distancing.

Face covering is required when entering any dining

facility and market.

UC San Diego Dining Services is committed to the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. We are following guidelines set by local, state, and national health officials and we are consistently evolving to meet current county health guidelines. The dining plan you choose is entirely up to you, depending on your individual appetite

or how often you want to eat outside of the dining facilities. Please remember, none

of our plans are meant to support three full meals a day, seven days a week.

Changing Your Dining PlanYou will have an opportunity to change your dining plan at the beginning of fall

quarter. Please log into the housing portal for more information. After this time

frame has passed, we will no longer allow any changes to the dining plan.

You are the only person authorized to use your dining plan. In the event that you

are ill or injured and unable to go into a restaurant or market, a temporary exception

for a friend or roommate to use your card will be allowed but you must contact

[email protected] and we will assist you with your request. Dining services

also provides meal service delivery to students in isolation due to COVID-19.

The Dining Plans are designed to provide flexibility, with the

understanding that you will occasionally be eating off campus, going

home for weekends, or cooking in your room/apartment.

Dining dollars are accepted at all HDH locations; they are not accepted at non-

HDH vendors like those located in the Price Center. Please see map for reference.

Additional Dining Dollars

Residents can add additional dining dollars to their Dining Plan at any time by

visiting the online card office at hdh.ucsd.edu/dining/pages/DiningDollars.html.

Your dining plan comes with a Triton Cash bonus! Triton Cash is the University’s

pre-paid spending account that is linked directly to your campus ID card. It’s

convenient, fast, easy—and accepted at 60+ locations on and off campus! The

account will be activated for you prior to move-in so you can use it for laundry.

Options for incoming first year students:

(includes incoming freshmen and incoming transfer students)

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PLAN FOR YOU

THE DINING PLANS “I love the convenience of being able

to use my dining dollars whenever I

like, for food at the dining halls and

for household necessities at the HDH

markets!” – Zach L.,

2nd Year,

Revelle College Student

2020 – 2021 Dining Plan

5355$5,355 Dining Dollars + $100 Triton Cash

Our most comprehensive plan which provides approximately 15 meals a week ($22.69/day, $158.83/week) to budget throughout the year...and it come with a bonus of $100 in Triton Cash!

3570$3,570 Dining Dollars + $50 Triton Cash

3570 is a flexible dining plan meant to cover approximately 10 meals a week for the average student ($15.13/day, $105.89/week). This plan comes with a bonus $50 in Triton Cash.

Benefits of the Higher Dining PlanYou have the option to pay your housing and

dining rates in installments, allowing you to

spread your payments throughout the year,

and all of your dining dollars will be available to

you at the time of move in. While you may add

dining dollars at any time throughout the year,

those must be paid in full at the time you add.

Dining Dollar Rollover Dining Dollars rollover through summer

session classes and until the end of fall

quarter of the next academic year.

Financial Aid Most, if not all, housing and dining fees may be

covered by financial aid if you are approved.

ACF Certified Chefs

Each of our residential dining restaurants’

culinary teams are led by an American

Culinary Federation Certified (ACF)

Chef de Cuisine. The rigorous

certification process requires a

great deal of knowledge and skill

as a food service professional.

Meet Chef Vaughn! Our ACF Certified Executive Chef

Dining Services welcomes Food Safety Manager Noor Kakish! Ms. Kakish has a Master’s in Public Health

and is a registered Environmental Health

Specialist; she will be managing quality

assurance and food safety protocols.

Dining Plans are billed with your Housing Contract

so that costs may be distributed throughout the year

based on the housing payment plan you selected. The

Dining Plan is linked to your campus ID card, and your

entire plan balance is available upon move-in. When you

purchase items, the register will reflect your transaction

and remaining account balance. Dining dollars are good

throughout the year, into the summer, and roll over into

fall quarter of the following year; however, dining dollars

will not roll over for those who terminate their Housing

Contract before the end of the academic year. Roll over

of dining dollars will happen regardless of whether or

not you will be living on campus the following year.

Your Dining Plan is

preloaded on your

Campus ID Card
