Choose your yearbook family

Gather your yearbook team by asking for student or parent volunteers, and get your yearbook show on the road!

Schedule a kick-off meeting to agree roles

Choose which of the following roles each person will take:

Adviser: Teacher or member of school staff to oversee, proof and approve the yearbook

Editors: These could be other team members, or students who will help manage the project

Staff: Your staff will be tasked with designing and populating your yearbook with content. Staff can only edit sections assigned to them.

Photographers: Only able to upload photos (optional)

Decide when you want your yearbooks delivered and plan your deadlines

Use the timeline on page 8 to help you plan how long to allow for each stage.

Get familiar with Yearbook Hub

Have a go at setting up some page sections and uploading photos, and ask the team designing the pages to play with the editor – it’ll save time later on.

Plan your yearbook pages and set your budget

Our flatplan on pages 31-32 will help you plan out your yearbook pages. Once you have these nailed, you’ll be able to set your budget and price per yearbook.

Collect photos and comments

The earlier you start collecting content the better, as this often involves a few nudges and reminders (to both staff and students). Read our guide to collecting comments on page 20 for tips.
