health and safety standards for general school use.

rather than boots

fashions change quickly, this gallery may not show all pictures of prohibited items.
Inappropriate footwear relates to black or dark trainers with logos, thin ballet pumps and canvas daps
or boots. Logos are not allowed as this puts pressure on other students to purchase expensive
footwear.

The Highest Expectations
Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly marked with your name and tutor group.
HAIR STYLES must be neat and tidy. Extremes of fashion must be avoided. Use of hair dye to
achieve an unnatural, two-toned or bleached coloured look is not permitted.
JEWELLERY - Expensive jewellery should not be brought to school. Staff reserve the right to ask
students to remove make-up/jewellery that they consider to be inappropriate. The
guidelines for what jewellery is permitted are outlined on page 2.
BODY PIERCING - For Health and Safety reasons, the school does not permit body piercing apart
from one pair of small (maximum of 5mm in diameter) stud or sleeper earrings in the ear lobe.
OUTDOOR COATS - Should be predominantly one colour. They should be plain in style and not made
from denim or leather material. Coats may be worn as additional items of clothing – not instead of the
school jumper.
Hoodies are not permitted as outdoor coats. Hoodies and inappropriate coats will be confiscated, re-
turned to students at the end of the school day.
MOBILE PHONES - Students bring mobile technology to school at their own risk.
Mobile technology is permitted in school and can be used during break and lunch time.
Mobile technology use in lessons is only permitted for learning purposes following teacher instruction.
Mobile technology used during lessons for any other purpose will be confiscated, returned to students at
the end of the school day.
Should your son/daughter wish to contact you in the day and they do not have access to mobile technol-
ogy, they can make a call from the student reception. If you should wish to contact your son/daughter
during the day, please can we ask you to contact the main reception and a message can be left for your
child, this avoids any disruption in lessons.
