Chino Hills H.S. Head for the Hills -

Chino Hills H.S. By: Greg Montoya

If there are peo-ple at Briggs thinking about going to Chino Hills High School, here is some in-formation about it. Chino Hills High (CHHS) is located in Chino Hills off Soquel Canyon Rd. Their rival is Ayala High

School. If you think CHHS is bad, honestly it’s not. There are a lot of friendly people to meet and hang around with. They also have their own newspaper called The Husky Howler. The classes offered include ceramics, band, cooking, art, video production, and theatre. They take their sports seriously at CHHS. Many of you have probably heard of Battle of the Bone, which CHHS has won many times.

The Battle of the Bone is a football game be-tween two rival high schools, Ayala and Chino Hills High. It’s called Battle of the Bone because both high school mascots are dogs. This is probably the most school spirited game and it is very fun and has a lot of supporters. Battle of the Bone has become an annual tradition for these high schools. Ayala’s mascot is a bulldog, and Chino Hills High is a Husky. I suggest everyone attend a Battle of the Bone game.

Chino Hills High School (CHHS)

If you’re thinking of attending Chino High

School in the future for high school, then you might

want to read the following questions that were asked

and answered by a freshmen student attending Chino.

Me: What do you like most about Chino High?

Macy Vicario: The people that are there are really

friendly.

Me: What is your hardest class?

Macy Vicario: My hardest class would be geometry

because our teacher doesn’t teach well in my opinion.

Me: Who is your easiest teacher and why?

Macy Vicario: Ms. Smith, who teaches freshman

trans/health, would be my easiest teacher because she

teaches in a way that’s very easy to understand.

Me: What do you hate the most about Chino?

Macy Vicario: The most thing I hate about Chino is

how early school starts, which is at 7:30.

Me: What elective would you recommend to an in-

coming freshmen?

Macy Vicario: An elective I would recommend taking

would be clothing.

Me: Do you like your school rallies?

Macy Vicario: The rallies at Chino are kind of boring

but sometimes fun.

Me: What is the best part of Chino’s rallies?

Macy Vicario: The best part of it is there dance team

Page 6 I N SI DER Cheerleading a Sport?

By: Melanie Martinez

Some people say, “Cheer is not a sport.” Others say, “ Cheer is a sport.”

Almost every cheerleader gets upset when someone says, “Cheer is not a sport.” Cheerleaders warm up, workout, and have to risk an injury just like basketball players, volleyball players, and baseball play-ers.

Cheerleaders do stunts, tumbling, jumps, and say cheers out loud all in snyc with other teammates. Stunts are carrying someone called a flyer. Bases are the the two main people other than the flyer. Most bases have a lot of muscles because they carry the flyer.

Cheer isn’t all about the cute bows and cute uni-forms. Cheerleaders aren’t limited to just cheering at football games. We volunteer to cheer at charity events and community events. Cheerleaders are very competi-tive when it comes to cheer competitions. Cheerleaders have routines to memorize which has stunts, dancing, and cheering. After all of the squads compete, we have an award ceremony. I believe cheerleading is a sport.

Is Cheer a Sport?

When happy family man Joe Dirt finds himself transport-ed to the recent past, he begins an epic journey to get back to

his loved ones in the present.

The first Joe Dirt was a funny movie with a very specific story line, which makes it hard for the movie to have a good sequel. Joe Dirt 2 cannot be ex-actly the same as the first, however, audiences will be expecting something similar which almost makes the task of making a good sequel, impossible.

The first Joe Dirt came out back in 2001. Joe Dirt mostly made fun of people’s bad fortune and stu-pidity. They had dumb jokes that were so stupid you had to laugh….at most of them.

The movie Fantastic Four will be coming out in theaters. This movie takes place in the uni-verse. The main characters are Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Jonny Storm.

In the movie four scientists need to use their new abilities to save Earth from the enemy. Four young scientists teleport to a vicious universe, then de-velop new abilities and work together to save Earth from an uprising enemy. I don’t know who the enemy is, just that the enemy used to be a friend. In the last released version of this movie, Dr. Doom was the vil-lain, let’s see if that changes this time around.

So, gone are Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and company this time around. Hopefully, this movie will be superior to the last attempt at bringing these super-heroes to the screen.

Terminator: Genisys Ted 2

By: Andrea Navarro

Release Date: June 12 Rated: N/A

Dope is about hip hop. Malcolm is carefully surviving in a tough neighborhood filled with gangsters and drugs called The Bottoms Inglewood, CA.

In this movie rapper A$AP Rocky will appear. This movie is about Malcolm’s dreams of going to college until one day he goes to a party and

meets Rocky's character and goes into the trading of drugs. This movie won an award at the Sundance Film festival.

I have a feeling this movie will be very good and might get more people to come watch it since nowadays people listen to rap. Also, maybe a lot of hip hop stars will appear. So, this movie might be more successful than Jurassic World.

By: Andrea Navarro

Release Date: June 12 Rated: PG-13

Cast: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer

Jurassic World is about dinosaurs that terrify tourists at a theme park. After a long time of not making a movie this one comes out. I think people who liked the other movies will like this one and probably the people who

didn't see other ones will also like this one. I saw the trailer and it looks pretty good.

In this movie not all the original characters will be in it. It was filmed in Isla Nublar, which is a theme park where the movie was filmed. This mov-ie might be about dinosaur vs. dinosaur. This will probably also feature water dinosaurs, too.

Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to

prove he's a person in a court of law. Ted was a very funny movie with great jokes, story lines, and charac-ters.

The plot is funny alone, but with Seth MacFar-lane humor, it could be outrageously hilarious. Ted had no comedic boundaries. They held nothing back and made fun of everything and anything they can.

By: Erika Gonzalez

Cast: Jason Clarke, Jai Court-ney, Emilia Clarke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Terminator: Genisys will be coming out in theaters. This movie takes place in the year 2029, in Los Angeles, CA. The main characters in this movie are, Jon Connor, Kyle Reese, and Sarah Connor. In

the movie, someone has sent a terminator to the past to kill John’s mother, Sarah. John Connor sends Kyle Reese to save his mother and to stop “Judgment Day” from happening.

This movie is action, adventure, and thriller all in one so if you like any of these, this is a movie for you.

turous girl called Margo Ruth. In the movie she goes missing and leaves clues for Quentin Jacobsen to go and find her. She says that he needs to be more adventurous, dangerous, and take risks.

John Green wrote this wonderful book. He also wrote The Fault in Our Stars, which was also a big hit. I haven’t read Paper Towns yet, but people around me have and they have said that it’s a “WONDERFUL” book!

Do you like the Min-ions in Despicable Me? Well, now they're making their own movie!

This movie is about the minions trying to find a new

leader before Gru. They meet someone named Scarlet Overkill. She plans to be the first female super villain. Her husband, Herb Overkill, is an inventor. He plans to take over the entire world. I think this is going to be a good movie because even without Gru, the minions are very funny.

Cast: George Clooney, Britt Robertson, and Hugh Laurie.

Tomorrowland is about a very smart man named Frank Walker, and a gifted teenager named Casey Newton. They go on a very dangerous adventure to discover the secrets of a place called '' Tomorrowland''.

Tomorrowland is somewhere in time and space that only exists in their memory. This is going to be an interesting movie because they go on an ad-venture to a place nobody knows about, but them.

Your brilliant ideas don't always get the attention they deserve, but they make you feel good about being smart enough to think them up! You will get another shot at impressing people with your innovation, and you should take it -- you could finally get the recognition you deserve.

Sometimes having a good memory can be more of a curse than a blessing -- this will be true, when someone from your past pops up and you can't make yourself forget a negative thing he or she did or said. Un-less you express these feelings, they'll never go away.

They say that opposites attract, but the people who appeal to you most will be those who are on the same wavelength. People with different viewpoints and attitudes won't interest you. Differ-ences are usually quite intriguing to you, but right now your inner self is avidly seeking comfort and validation.

It's very important to keep your mind open. On top of that, you should stop re-sisting someone who is admittedly trying to change your opinion -- because what this person has to say makes a heck of a lot of sense. It is a major mistake to let your ego make you stubborn.

You might lose your head if it wasn't firmly attached. Other people's at-tempts to drive you mad are pretty suc-cessful if you let them mess with your psyche. Take a page out of Freud's book and use free association to get to the heart of what's really bothering you.

Someone who has been selflessly help-ing others is suddenly in need of help. Make sure you're the one to lead the charge in coming to this generous soul's aid. He or she deserves all the time, ef-fort and finances that you can comforta-bly provide.

There is a struggle going on inside of you today -- your selfless side is in battle with your selfish side, and it's not clear which will win. Give yourself the day to mull things over, and perhaps get out a pen and paper to draw up some lists of pros and cons!

Someone who is usually placid and agreea-ble will exhibit some unusual feistiness -- and you're going to like it a lot! This person seems to have turned over a new leaf, and is no longer hesitant to be argumentative. You can choose to participate in a bout of bantering or to enjoy it from the sidelines.

You will encounter a bridge during your journey -- it is meant to connect you to another person, and crossing it will cause a casual acquaintance to become a good friend. It may involve some sort of con-flict. Don't be alarmed -- you will be on the same side, fighting for the same cause.

Spontaneous action on your part could begin a landslide of ideas for another per-son. Speak out as much as you want, be-cause your words could serve as the catalyst someone’s been waiting for. Your job is to rouse people out of their routines and re-mind them other people have much to of-fer.

You finally have the Universe's permission to slow the heck down! Your work is done and all your responsibilities have been tak-en care of, so do not worry any longer. Try to relax and just enjoy the environment you are in right now.

Stand up and speak your mind. You've got a lot to say, and there are a lot of people listening. You can't please eve-ryone all of the time. If you feel like you're swimming with the sharks, get the heck out of the water.
