CAMDS is the China version of IMDS
Product Data Management Platform to implement the “Technical Policy”
2006 - “Recycling and Reutilization Policy of Automotive Product” ie. “Technical Policy”
Timing goal – to be in effect before 2010
Recycling / Recovery Goals –
85% Recovery Rate – 2010 (select automotive products)
90% Recovery Rate / 80% minimum Recyclability Rate – 2012 (all domestic and non-domestic automobiles)
95% Recovery Rate (complete vehicle products line) - 2017

IMDS data can only be transferred to “FURTHER CLIENT(S)” that are using the data solely for regulatory / compliance reporting purposes.
Only IMDS Advanced Interface (AI) USERS can
transfer data to “FURTHER CLIENT(S).”
“FURTHER CLIENT as defined in the IMDS Terms of Use, specifies the conditions a recipient system must satisfy. CAMDS does not currently satisfy these conditions.”

CAMDS does not have systems / rules in place that honor the protection of Intellectual Proprietary data
IMDS data USERS are bound to honor the protection of Intellectual Proprietary data
Can I transfer data from the IMDS to the
CAMDS system?
• The answer = NO
• By accepting the “Terms of Use” in IMDS you are bound to those terms. Transferring data from IMDS to CAMDS could potentially lead to legal liability
issues including prosecution.
• DO NOT TRANSFER DATA FROM IMDS TO CAMDS

CAMDS system?
Suggestions for complying to your customer(s) request for CAMDS reporting:
Contact your supplier(s) and request they enter their material data in CAMDS:
Use CAMDS MDS Request functionality
Request supplier data CAMDS submission via e-mail communication
Remember……If they are not registered users of CAMDS, you will be required to register them as your supplier in CAMDS
With the intent to protect your and your suppliers intellectual proprietary data, solicit supplier raw data then enter your organization’s final product data in CAMDS using a Flat BoM approach.
