Introduction

• S.N- capsicum annum• family: solanaceae• It is hot due to presence

of capsaicin and capsicutin

• Rich in vitamin A and C• Used as spice crop

Climate and soilClimate and soil : It is crop of warm and humid area hence

cultivated as summer crop in high hill and winter crop in terai. The optimum temperature is 20-250 c

Soil: well fertile ,rich in organic matter loamy to clay loam soil of pH 5.5-6.5

Nursery raisingRaised bed( 15 cm height) of 1m width and any

convenient lengthSeed should be sown in 10 cm distance in

depth of 1-2 cm4 m2 area is needed for 1 ropani of land8 kg FYM, 80 gm DAP and 25 gm MOP should

be usedStraw can be used as mulching materialLight irrigation till germinationReady to uproot at 5-6 leaf stage

Contd….Manuring and fertilizer :1000 kg FYM , 3:2:2 kg NPK per ropani N should be top dressed in 25-30 DAT and 40-50

DATIrrigation : 7-8 light irrigation at interval of 10-12

days.Weeding : weeding together with earthing up is

done at 20-25 DAT and 45-50 DATHarvesting : manual harvesting is done no. of

times for complete harvestYield : 400-600 kg/ropani fresh fruit
