What are Human Rights???

The rights andfreedoms to whichall humans areentitled, just forsimply existing as ahuman.

Do Children Have Special Rights?

YES! • the right to survive• the right to develop• the right to be

protected from harm• the right to participate

• 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). This was the first treaty specifically concerned with the rights of children

• The Convention created a new vision of children as bearers of rights and responsibilities appropriate to their age rather than viewing them as the property of their parents or the helpless recipients of charity.
