Preliminaries Pastor Mark Scarr welcomed members and adherents present. Attendance

There were 188 members present at 7:00 pm. The quorum required for voting on the budget and board members under our new bylaws enacted in 2014 was 67 (10% of 674) or 50, whichever is less. The voting bar was established. There were 7 adherents present. Individual motions were moved, seconded, and carried for Parliamentarian (Ron Walker), Recording Secretary (Geraldine Cusiac), and approval of the agenda.

    Minutes (Pastor Mark Scarr)

Minutes of the WPCPC annual business meeting of 2014-02-28 were moved, seconded, and carried. Election of Directors

Bylaw #3, clause 5.02, states that at least three of the directors of WPCPC shall be directors in WPC. To comply with this requirement, the WPCPC election ballot needs to split so that there is a set of directors of WPC from which three are to be elected, and a set of other people from which four are to be elected. From the current published nominations this means that:

From among David Gilstorf, Ryan Greer, and Stephen Shew, three are to be elected, and

From among Janet Clarke, Geraldine Cusiac, Nancy Donnelly, Lyn Malo, Christine Martin, Andrew Paterson, and Stephen Schyf, four are to be elected.

    1. Motion on Articles of Continuance:

The Articles of Continuance of the Corporation provide that there shall be a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of seven (7) Directors. Pastor Mark put forward the motion that the number of Directors shall be seven (7); otherwise changed by resolution of the Members of the Corporation. It was moved, seconded and carried.

    2. Vote to Elect WPB Board Nominees by Acclamation:

Pastor Mark asked if there was any objection to voting for the three WPC candidates by acclaimation. None was raised, so a vote to elect the three nominees from the WPC board by acclamation took place. It was moved, seconded and carried.

    3. Elected on first ballot: Geraldine Cusiac, Christine Martin, Andrew Paterson, Stephen Schyf Financial Reports (Andrew Paterson)

The financial reports were presented by Andrew Paterson as printed in the annual report. It was moved, seconded, and carried that the audited 2014 financial statements be accepted. One question from Helen Lenthall: Is there a sizeable capital investment coming this year (i.e. 2015)? Answered by Andrew Paterson: Yes - the rooftop units are being replaced over the next year. (Clarification from Stephen Shew for the minutes: The units are budgeted for in the Woodvale Church Corporation’s budget.) It was moved, seconded and carried that the 2015 budget be accepted as printed. There were no questions from the floor. It was moved, seconded, and carried that Collins Barrow Ottawa LLP be retained as auditor for WPCPC for fiscal 2015.

LEAD PASTORS REPORT Vision can be described as “the ability to see, the faith to believe and the courage to do”. Over the past few years your Leadership Team has taken quality time to make some honest assessments of “who we are” as a church. We then began to discern and discover the necessary steps that God wanted us to take to enter into His preferred future for us. It then required faith and courage as the vision was shared and then implemented. Here is a brief overview of the journey and components of Vision 2015 … The Beginning It all began in the spring of 2014 at a pastoral team day apart. Our conversation and discussion centred around the reality that every year the Holy Spirit was leading over 1,000 first time guests to come to Woodvale and yet most of them never integrated into the church. We realized that we needed to do much better at pastoring these guests (which are God’s gifts to us). Change was needed. We were already a large growing church and often we were still functioning like a small church. The Big Change It was at our 2014 fall days away as a pastoral team that we began to flesh out what we sensed the necessary changes needed to be. These few days were marked with vision, passion, excitement and honesty. The Circle Enlarged Over the next few months we had many leadership meetings. What began as a dream with the pastoral team then led to meetings and dialogue with the church board, and then we met with the pastors, board, staff and spouses. Before long we were connecting with key leaders and following that all our ministry workers and leaders. Going Public Although hundreds of leaders and ministry workers were now aware of the vision we went public to the church family on Sunday, February 1, 2015. That was truly a pivotal moment for Woodvale. Gradual Change Vision is never true vision until it is not only shared but also received and implemented. Over the winter, spring and summer months of 2015 we worked very hard at helping prepare the church for all the upcoming changes. The Launch On Wednesday, September 9 hundreds of ministry volunteers gathered in the Main Auditorium for our final gathering before the launch. We ended our time with a prayer walk around the church property. Sunday, September 13 was Launch Sunday. Some of the Results Our first morning service has grown by approximately 100 people while the second morning service is stronger than ever. We are seeing an increased number of salvations and first time guests getting integrated into the church. We now have over 70 connect groups and hundreds more are involved in serving at Woodvale. We have almost arrived at the tipping point where more people (Junior High and up) are in a connect group than those who are not! Synopsis of the Changes Parking - created a more structured parking system to offer safety and a more welcoming environment for first time guests First Time Guests - created a more structured process to help first time guests become integrated and discipled into the life of Woodvale Lobby - now includes a guest lounge and a ministry wall (Follow, Connect, Serve) and decentralized hospitality kiosks Follow Wall - to receive information about Alpha, Follow (new believers) and water baptism

    - It’s all about taking the “next step” - wrote our own new believer’s booklet (Follow)

  • Woodvale Pentecostal Church Annual Report 2015 9

Connect Wall - encouraging everyone to get into a connect group and “do life together” - be sure to check this out on our church website

Serve Wall - at Woodvale we affirm that you are “saved to serve”

    - our goal is to create a culture of serving where everyone is doing something Sunday Services - both fully identical with children’s ministries running throughout the entire service

    - monthly intergenerational service (1st); communion & water baptism (1st) - baby dedications (2nd) - all church prayer (4th) and missions feature (4th)

Connect Groups - all Life Groups & Celebrate Recovery are held on Monday evening

    - transitioning from ministry focused to small group based church - believing to soon have 100 Connect groups

Children’s Ministries (Sunday) - runs current with both morning services.

    - using a current “cutting edge” curriculum that helps involve the parents in the spiritual formation of their children The Bottom Line Who we are … Authentic – real God, real life & real issues Relational – connecting people to God, one another and the community Diverse – inter-generational and inter-cultural (approximately 60% under the age of 30 and over 65 nationalities represented) What we do … Follow – next steps Connect – doing life together Serve – saved to serve My Main Responsibilities As the Lead Pastor my job is to offer overall leadership, care and direction for the church. I serve as the main preaching communicator, lead the church board and pastoral team and offer oversight to a number of ministries including - prayer ministries, missions, men’s ministries, women’s ministries (directly accountable to my wife Evelyn), seniors and pastoral care. Closing Remarks The end of 2015 marks 15 years for us at Woodvale. This past May marked 30 years of full time ministry with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. 5 years in Goderich, 4 years in Montreal, 6 years in Bowmanville and 15 years in Ottawa. We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and for all that He is doing. Our hearts are so filled with love, passion and vision for Woodvale and this city. Every Sunday morning many are giving their hearts to the Lord. May we never lose our passion and heart to reach the unchurched and the next generation in Ottawa. Thank you for your love and incredible support to us, as Evelyn walked through cancer surgery this year. It is now behind us and we are moving forward. Our love for this church and city is so deep. We count it an honour and privilege “to do life together” with you. Both our daughters (Jennifer and Jessica) are continuing their studies with Master’s College & Seminary (Peterborough). Our son (Jonathan) and daughter-in-law (Kayla) are now married over 4 years. Their beautiful daughter (Norah-Lane) turned 1 year old in October. There is nothing like being grandparents! May Philippians 3:13-14 be a challenge to each one of us: 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. We can’t go back – we can’t stay here – we must move forward! God has so much more that He desires to do in each one of us, our church, our city and the nation of Canada. Together let’s believe for greater things in 2016. Evelyn and I love each one of you so much! Respectfully Submitted, Rev. Mark A. Scarr Lead Pastor

WORSHIP MINISTRY REPORT ~ 2015 What a huge year it has been here at Woodvale!! So much growth, change and vision has taken place this year and I am so thankful that God has graced Rikki and I with the honour of being a part of it all. The love we receive, the friendships we’ve made and the prayers and encouragement we have felt and heard continue to blow us away. We can’t say enough about our Woodvale family! Every single day when I pull into the church, I cannot believe that God has given me the privilege to lead our church in the area of worship. There is literally nothing in the world that I would rather be doing and no other place that I’d rather be doing it! Woodvale is a church that understands and embraces the next generation. We are a body of believers that are very passionate about praising our Saviour and our worship services are proof of that. I am lucky enough to get a front row view of the army of worshipers that storm heaven with praise, week in and week out, and it is so amazing to watch! Woodvale is alive, growing and moving forward!! Most people have no idea of all that it takes to make sure that every week happens, and that it happens well. The amount of preparation, organization, set up, scheduling and planning that is needed could never be done by one person. It takes a lot of wonderful people to make it all happen! There is a very committed team of over 80 people that serve throughout each month that help our church reach this city for Christ. Most of the teams are at the church by 7:30am on Sunday mornings. Some of them have to travel a long ways to get to church, but they are up before 6:00am, travel in snow and show up with a smile, ready to do their part and lead people to Jesus. It can be a long day as they don’t leave till close to 1:00 pm, but I can tell you first hand that the heart of this team is pure gold!! Our volunteers understand what it means to ‘serve others (1 Peter 4:10). No one is here for themselves or to showcase their talents or giftings. Our church is full of people that understand that church is not about them or for them, but we are here to serve and see the lost return to Christ. It is such a privilege to work with such an amazing group of servants and leaders. We truly have the best team in the world!! Where do I start??? Our Worship Choir continues to be a vital component in our worship services. The energy and hearts of worship that they bring is so powerful! I like to call them the “Worship Army”. They add so much to our services and I want to thank them for all the hard work and many hours that they put in to help our worship reach heaven. And trust me, they serve a lot! Joanna Renwick and Nolda Lawrence have once again taken the lead for our choir and I am so incredibly thankful for them!! Another area that has grown this year, that you may not be aware of, is our worship teams at Alpha. We have been using members from our Sunday worship teams to lead the worship for our Alpha program. It has been amazing! Many people that sign up for Alpha have never been in a worship environment and most haven’t even received salvation yet. It’s been such an honour to be a part of, and truly lead and teach these new believers what worship is and how powerful it can be! Jeanne Wagner and Dan Potvin have played a huge roll over this past year in leading worship on Wednesday nights. Ryan and April Greer, Wayne Mosley and Kathy Blakely have also be a part of the Holy Spirit weekend. Thanks to all of you who have helped grow this ministry and the lives of the people that attend. Live Streaming continues to grow and has quickly become a very important part of our church. There are hundreds of hits each and every Sunday! There have been some very cool stories of people that constantly watch and rely on our stream for their Sunday worship and teachings. There is a church in Quebec that streams us every Sunday! They have their own worship time and then stream into our service for Pastor Mark’s message. There is also a family down in California that gets up at 6:00am every Sunday so they can tune in and be a part of Woodvale’s service! Throughout the summer, many church members up at Ottawa Valley Camp tune in. When people from our congregation are away on business or vacation, they are watching, also those who are sick or unable to make it out to church each week, are able to go on line and stream our service! Live Streaming has proven to have a very big impact on many, many people and we thank the Lord for the technology, and also for the amazing volunteers, that not only have set it all up and keep it working, but also to our very large video team that serves every Sunday on cameras, producing, switching and projection. There is a lot that has to happen every week in order for it all to run smoothly, and it’s all done by some amazing and committed volunteers! So thank you to all of you! One of the most thankless roles in church, is running the soundboard. We have a very large demographic of young and old as well as people from different cultures and backgrounds. It is of course impossible to please everyone with our sound styles and levels but our fearless sound technicians are up there every week, using their giftings to glorify God, and bring clarity and energy to our service. Gord Millar and Ernst den Broeder have both stepped up this past year in such a massive way and helped us bring more consistence and excellence to our sound ministry. They choose to continue to serve and do it with a great heart and attitude! I cannot thank them,

and the rest of the team enough, and I encourage anyone who is reading this to make a point to go up to them and let them know how good of a job they are doing! We could not have service without them and I am so very thankful for all of them. Our lighting department and the volunteers that serve there are literally some of the best I’ve ever worked with! I’m sure you have all noticed throughout Easter, Christmas and each and every Sunday, that our lighting ministry is top notch! Our Christmas Eve service this year was a great reminder of that. Our lighting brought so much to the night and helped create such an amazing atmosphere and professionalism and every Sunday is the same way. Lighting has become a very big part of helping people engage in worship and create an atmosphere of intimacy, while we look to God and bring Him praise. We are so thankful for the amazing team that we have! I have been around many musicians, worship teams and leaders over the years and I can honestly say that the heart of our worship team is something many worship pastors long for. The commitment, the excellence, the positive attitudes, the hours put in; it’s amazing. Week after week, our team shows up with the sole purpose to lead our church into the throne room of God. They practice and prepare many hours to make sure they are ready for Sunday. They bring excellence to every service, not to show their talent, but their desire is to get out of the way and let God shine! I am honoured to be able to lead worship with the team here at Woodvale. Every week, I am in awe that God allows us to freely lead our wonderful church in worship and I could not do it without the team that God has blessed us with. Last, but not least are all of you. The body of Christ that makes up Woodvale Church. Thanks to all of you that have accepted me as your pastor. I know I’m never going to please everyone’s style, taste in music, sound level or whatever else the enemy will try and use to stop us, but my continued prayer for our church is this: That we will become closer to the heart of God every time that we gather to worship and that we will all learn to worship God with everything that we have at every moment. As we come together each Sunday, I pray that you don’t need me or the worship team to lead you, but you yourself can’t help but get lost in His presence, lifting up your own song and heart to give him the glory and honour that He deserves! That is my prayer. I am so thankful for all that God has done this past year here at Woodvale, and He did so much! But I know the best is still yet to come and I am believing for our best year yet in 2016! Please join us as we pursue the heart of God and His vision for us. If you’re not in a Connect group yet, I encourage you to join one. If you’re not yet serving, trust me, you’re missing out! Love you all so much! God bless you. Love Pastor Brad, Rikki, Scout, Scarlett

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY REPORT (ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE) “Parenting is a tough gig.” I turned around in the pharmacist’s lineup to see that the person speaking to me was a young mother holding a wiggly toddler who was whining about being sick. The child was visibly uncomfortable and doing everything possible to make her mommy feel the same. Mommy was frustrated, tired, and at her wit’s end. “It will get easier,” I said. That was a lie. I’m told it doesn’t always get easier. The challenges just change. Let’s be honest, parenting IS a tough gig. It’s not for the faint of heart. Raising children is a huge responsibility. Children take over just about every aspect of your life. They are silly and irresponsible, they break things, they make mistakes, and they have to be constantly taught something. They are germ carriers, they can be inappropriate in public, they try every nerve and they test their boundaries. They do that because they are… well… kids. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the toughness of parenthood that we miss the beautiful moments in it. Our kids’ childhood is like a train that is moving past us. If we don’t jump on and start to lead, engage, play, impart and connect with them, the train is gone in what feels like an instant. Eventually the train will come to your stop and you will need to get off and let them continue on. Will your kids be ready for the rest of their journey? My parenthood train is moving fast. The chunky little three year-old who was toddling around with his sippy cup and saying oddly-pronounced words is now gone forever, replaced by a big, busy 8 year-old. I will never be the Mom of a three year-old again. So, the time that I have with my kids has to be used intentionally for the kingdom of God. What we do each day to spiritually raise our children has to have a maximum impact. At WOWkids, we know how tough it can be to raise godly kids, and we desire to help you on your journey. We exist to equip you to engage your children and mentor them spiritually during your time on this fast-moving train. According to Reggie Joiner in his book, “Think Orange”, the average parent has about 3,000 hours per year to influence a child. The average church, by comparison, has just 40 hours per year. This is why we believe that parents are the primary nurturers of their children’s faith, and that we exist as a ministry to equip and encourage parents to do what God has called them to do. We are here to support you as you spiritually raise your children. To that end, we have made some significant changes over the past year to encourage our kids as servants of God, and to better equip our parents to minister to their children. Here is a short recap of our ministries over the past year: SUNDAY MORNING MINISTRY – WOWkids (Grades 1-5) We have gone through some huge changes over the past year, and we are excited about what God has been doing on Sunday mornings. Our former design for Sundays was Sunday School (Small Group Based) at 9:00 service, followed by WOWchurch (Large Group) at 11:00 service. Here are some of the changes that happened this year: 1. Early Start time. For many years, children were dismissed from the Worship Centre at a certain point in the morning services

and would go to their classrooms and meeting areas. Over time our church grew to the point that this was no longer a safe and efficient option for checking children into their ministries. We made the decision last year to start our Children’s Ministries programs at the start of the service.

    2. Large Group/Small Group Setting. We decided that we loved certain things about both our large group and small group models and that marrying the two would create an excellent learning and worship opportunity for our kids. Kids now start out in a large group setting for music and storytelling, and then break into their grade-level Connect Groups.

    3. Unite Sunday. As I said before, we value the parents as the primary spiritual nurturers of their children. With our new shift to children being in their ministries from the start, we felt it necessary to ensure that children get a regular opportunity to be mentored in worship by their parents. We created “Unite Sunday”, which is an intergenerational service that is designed with a multi-age congregation in mind. We have had an absolute blast including people of all ages in these creative and engaging services.

  • Woodvale Pentecostal Church Annual Report 2015 20

    4. Curriculum. We are excited about what God has been doing through the use of our “Tru” curriculum. Tru is designed to teach

Scripture as “The Big God Story”. Each week children will learn about a new person in Scripture and see where that person falls on the timeline of God’s historical narrative. Children are taught that they are a part of God’s story and that God has a plan for their lives. Tru also focuses heavily on family ministry and equips parents to teach their children at home. Our take-home papers allow parents to teach their children the Bible stories before the stories are reinforced at church. In this ministry we are working toward a ministry model where parents take the lead in directing their children toward a relationship with Christ.

The Sunday morning team is too large to thank individually, as there are so many Connect Leaders, Worship Leaders, Tech Team, Youth Team and Adult Support Teams who contribute so much of their time each week. I would just like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the way that you have stepped up and supported through all of the transition. You guys are awesome! I would like to make special mention of Julie Jackson, our Program Director for WOWkids, who works so hard to keep our teams staffed, our resources prepared, and to keep us all on our toes. We could not have made this shift in format without her assistance. WOWkids HOSPITALITY TEAM One area of our ministry that has been “unsung” in the past has been our hospitality ministry. We are grateful for our team of cheerful, welcoming friends who greet the kids, direct families, and show the love of Christ each week. I am grateful for the help of Claudette Nyenhuis, who has stepped up to lead this team, and as we move into 2016 we are looking forward to some fun new ways of making new families feel at home at Woodvale. SUMMER SHAKE DAY CAMP This is a ministry that gets us all fired up each summer! We love to be Jesus’ hands and feet in our community, and SSDC is a way for us to meet real needs of families while showing the love of Christ to children. SSDC runs through July and August, and keeps the church building humming with activity. A typical week at SSDC has kids going on out-trips, swimming, doing crafts, playing outrageous games, and participating in learning new skills. There is also Chapel Time, where kids get to hear the message of Christ told in creative ways. In short, there is never a dull moment! This year we asked our Camp parents to participate in a survey so that we could better understand the dynamics of the Camp families. Here is what we discovered:

81% of our families do not attend WPC for anything other than Camp

48% of our families heard about us from friends and family

44% of our families were new to SSDC this year

78% of our families felt that their child learned a new skill at Camp

100% of our families said they would recommend SSDC to a friend or family member

It was awesome to see our Camp thriving again this summer at 86% capacity! This year’s camp was led with excellence by Denis Bégin, who was new to the Director position this year. We had a top-notch team of 10 Coaches and a rotation of 14 Coaches in Training (CITs) who dedicated lots of energy, patience and creativity to making it an amazing experience for the kids. We are looking forward with great anticipation for what God is going to do in 2016, our 18th season of Summer Shake Day Camp! AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM For a number of years WOWkids has run an After School Program to meet the needs of our neighboring schools. This program has been a huge success, and we have been able to get to know many families in our community by meeting their care needs. In 2015 we operated the program until the end of the school year in June. As the program has grown, regulations that govern this type of childcare program require that the program would need to operate as a licensed program in order to continue to grow. We made the decision not to operate for the Fall season so that we could take time to adequately investigate our options for this program, and look at ways that we can minister in this way to our community in the future. Many thanks to Heidi Taylor and her team for representing us well in our community and for the excellent care that they offered to our neighboring families.

MISSIONS WOWkids sponsors a child through ERDO’s Childcare Plus sponsorship program. Our sponsored child lives in the Village of Hope in Malawi, and our kids are getting to know a little about him. We were so excited to have Kathy Bowler visit us all the way from the Villages of Hope to talk about our friend and to describe what life is like in Malawi. The kids were given an opportunity to give toward the sponsorship of this little boy and they really stepped up! We had two banks that total up money as you drop coins in, and we pitted the boys against the girls. Well, the boys won, and one of the male leaders got to pie ME in the face! ZOOM! Each Wednesday night we had roughly 80-90 kids attending Zoom. This ministry is a large group/small group program, so kids come together in their large group and then break off into their Connect Groups for fun activities and to reinforce the lesson. At Zoom we focus heavily on giving kids the gospel message, and we accomplish this through the development of friendships and building Christian community. One of the ways that we encourage the building of community is through our silly theme nights like Duct Tape Night, PJ’s & Movie Night, Leaders Vs. Kids Challenge, The Amazing Race and an overnighter at Cosmic Adventures. It’s a lot of fun! You will never find a more creative, kind, and energetic team of leaders than our Zoom leaders! I want to thank the Zoom Director, Mary Beyer, for her excellent leadership of this vibrant ministry. PRESCHOOL MINISTRY Our preschool ministry has grown in so many ways over the past year in leaps and bounds! I am grateful for the partnership of Pastor Kimberley Malloy, who has brought so much creativity, energy and wisdom to the directorship of our ministries to our youngest kids. Please take time to read her ministry report, which is submitted separately. I would especially like to thank our parents for all of their support and patience as we have grown through these changes. You have been kind, supportive and flexible! I would also like to thank my husband Clive, and my children for their extra support this year as well. Our 3 Main goals at WOWkids are that kids would KNOW God, GROW in their relationship with Him, and that they would GO and reach their generation for Christ. Although we have been so excited to make changes and see God move this ministry forward in the past year, we are dedicated to continuous growth and improvement as we follow Christ’s example in loving His children. We look forward with great anticipation toward what God will do in 2016! Respectfully submitted, Pastor Shelley Good

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY REPORT 2015 (Early Childhood & Preschool)

What an exciting year we have had in 2015. Our Early Childhood & Preschool Ministry has been a busy and energetic place. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the new things we have done and the great teams that have been formed to pull everything together in this important area of ministry. Early Childhood & Preschool: Zoom The preschoolers and toddlers at Zoom had a wonderful year. It has been our pleasure to provide a fun, safe and Christ centered program. The preschool team had a great fall with teaching the Fruit of the Spirit in an interactive and very memorable way. We feel it is important to serve the families of our church in this area. For a lot of the children who attend, we know many of their parents have been able to join our Solo Moms, ALPHA or the Follow course by offering this program. Early Childhood & Preschool - Sunday Mornings In the Spring 2015 we had many new people join our Children’s Ministry team. It has been a joy to see how people have found a place to serve and to see them using the talents God has given them. Throughout the past year we have seen new murals painted, set-up new play structures and added new toys to our classrooms. We even took down a wall! We’ve updated a few of our classrooms to better serve our growing families. We hope that families can see how intentional we are about everything we do. We want to make the Bible come alive to our kids. Our passion is that everything from the room décor, to the games we play, or the time we have together eating snack, points them to and reminds them of the truth we share through our time in God’s word. We also opened up our Parent Room. This has been greatly appreciated by parents who are not yet ready to leave their little ones in Discovery Land or for little ones who really struggle with separation anxiety. They are able to take part in the service by watching it live streamed while their children, aged 0-2, play. Fall 2015 brought in our new structure to Sunday mornings, and new curriculum. These two additions have been a great catalyst for us. With both services now identical, we can make sure we are offering a streamlined approach to teaching the Bible. We have introduced a take home sheet for parents, to see where we are going each month as well as follow-up sheets they can use at home. I believe 2016 will be just as exciting. We will continue to update three more of our classrooms. I hope you will stop by to see the exciting changes happening in the Early Childhood and Preschool departments of Woodvale Children’s Ministry. Pastor Kimberley Malloy

STUDENT MINISTRIES REPORT Boost Jr. High (Gr. 6-8) What an incredible year it has been for us at BOOST! We have had a blast doing life together, and have been thrilled to see students connect both with God and each other on a deeper level! We have met for various different types of events this past year, including: worship services, scavenger hunts, wild games nights, retreats, and small group parties. It has been incredible to see our students excited to invite their friends from school to their church, excited for the meaningful moments that would be experienced This past year, we were intentional about making Jr. High something that continued from January, right through December. Rather than taking a significant break in the summer, we decided to have weekly gatherings until the end of June, and then bi-weekly gatherings in the Summer. Because of this change in schedule, we were able to experience many more of our worship services. These evenings served as incredible opportunities for our students to engage in worship, request prayer from leaders, and open up in one-on-one conversations. We taught on a variety of topics this past year, with themes of living counter-culturally, persevering, and basic principles for following Jesus/Christian living. It was incredible to see our students maximize on the many opportunities presented on our Wednesday night services. Our major event of Fall 2015 was definitely our retreat to Joy Bible Camp in October. Although we arrived for a fall retreat, we found ourselves unloading our buses onto a snow covered campground for the second year in a row! What an adventure! This was an incredible opportunity for our students to build relationships with each other, all the while connecting with God on a deeper level. I had the opportunity to speak during our meeting times, and I was amazed once again at how open the students were to the presence of God during our response times! Our entire weekend was focused around the idea of “boldness”—boldly living in relationship with God, and boldly living out God’s purposes in the world. During our second evening, I taught on the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and it was so great to see our students experience that baptism that evening! This weekend definitely served as an incredible opportunity to connect with the students on a more personal level, and I know the same also happened for our leaders too! We also had our annual trip to Kingston for our Jr. High Convention! This was an incredible weekend, where we stuffed 2 buses full of junior highs! During this event, our students maximized on many memories in hotel rooms, but more importantly, seemed to actively engage in our service times. The theme for the weekend was, “sold out”, where we challenged our students to live fully committed to making Jesus lord of their lives. Another key moment for our students was our Jr. High camp at Ottawa Valley Pentecostal Camp. It was a great joy to see over 30 of our Woodvale Jr. Highs attending this week, with many also coming for our one night bus trip! When I think about all that has happened at BOOST, Jr. High over the past twelve months, I cannot stop being overwhelmed with gratitude towards the leaders involved in this ministry. Our Sr. High and Young Adult leaders have done a stellar job at committing not only their time and efforts, but also their hearts to this ministry. I must say, there is nothing more encouraging than sitting in our monthly Sunday afternoon meetings and observing our 20 leaders share testimonies from BOOST over the month, share their dreams, and simply observe their willingness to serve as they extend the grace of God that has permeated their personal lives. This ministry would not even be close to what it is today, if it was not built up on the foundation of a team; functioning in unity, valuing each individual’s giftedness. I look forward to seeing our Jr. Highs follow our leaders, as our leaders continue to spur them on through their personal acts of obedience to God. Strive Young Adults (18-25) It has been a blast doing life with our young adults over the past year! This is a group of individuals that is finding their own personal identity as they engage in adulthood through vocation, independence, and often settling into a new geographical setting. As they make these adjustments, it is great to see them find their place in Christian community at Woodvale. I am very excited to see where God will lead this group as they collectively crave connection with each other, the needs of the community, and most importantly God, whom they have chosen to (amidst the adjustment into adulthood) serve. Since January of 2015, we have seen Strive Young Adults transition into a ministry with an expression very similar to our church; focused on connect groups. We have had the privilege of maximizing on our connect group gatherings, by structuring connect group gatherings into every other Thursday night meeting. Our connect groups have seen much growth in many different areas! It has been great to see our groups planning socials together, home bible studies, and engaging in serve initiatives together as a group! I am so thrilled to see our young adults connecting, not only with the vision of Strive, but also to the vision of Woodvale as a whole.

  • Woodvale Pentecostal Church Annual Report 2015 24

There were many great moments we’ve had as a group this past year, some of them being: a winter retreat to Mont Tremblant, a camping trip at Murphy’s Point, many beach nights, pool parties, and barbeques. It has been great to see our young adults take ownership of many of these events and put planning efforts towards making these events a success. It has been incredible to see our students engage in our monthly worship services, where we choose to do something a little bit different than a Sunday celebration, with our service in our student café, with sound system-free worship and interactive teaching. It is great to see our young adults engage in such interactive teaching, and recognize the opportunity to bless one another during these moments! 2015 was also a year of transitions, as Rev. Jeremy Albrecht transitioned to a district youth director position for the PAOC in Cobourg. Serving as co-young adults pastor, saying goodbye to Pastor Jeremy meant some changes for the way Strive Young Adults functioned. I know we all miss Pastor Jeremy greatly, and are motivated to continue the legacy he has left before us with our young adults. Since Pastor Jeremy’s farewell in July, Andrew Paterson has come alongside me to serve as our interim young adults co-pastor. Andrew has been such a great blessing to both our young adults, and to me and I know everyone is very grateful for Andrew’s heart for the ministry, and incredible work ethic! I know both myself and our young adults are looking forward to the future of Strive Young Adults, as we partner with the bigger Woodvale family in pursuit of God’s perfect plans for our lives! IntenCity Youth (Gr. 9-12) It has been an absolute joy working with our Sr. Highs at Woodvale! Since Pastor Jeremy Albrecht’s move to our PAOC district office in Cobourg as youth director in July, I have had the honour of leading our high school students. Partnering with me at a great capacity has been our student ministries interim pastor, Emmanuel Gwayumba. He has done an incredible job being involved at a very hands-on level with our Sr. Highs. One of our key moments this past year has been our Winter Retreat, “fervor” in February. During this retreat at Joy Bible camp in Bancroft, our students, leaders and Pastor Jeremy maximized on the opportunities to build relationships with each other, all the while connecting with God a deeper level. Our guest speaker for the weekend was Mark Colwell, our Western Ontario PAOC youth director, who spoke on the theme of surrendering to God. This weekend definitely served as an incredible opportunity for leaders to connect with the students on a more personal level! Another key moment was our District Convention at Durham College in Oshawa. It was great to load up a bus in May, join up with hundreds of other students across Ontario, and in the spirit of unity, pursue the presence of God. This year’s convention had a great emphasis on students being equipped to share their faith. In the summer, our students said farewell to Pastor Jeremy, and although there were many tears and sad moments among our students and leaders, it was incredible to see that those who were shedding tears also expressed how proud they were to see their youth pastor move on to become the director of all of Eastern Ontario’s youth ministries within the PAOC. It has been incredible to see our students continue the moving towards fulfilling God’s plans, and in addition to our students, our leaders have taken much more ownership in continuing the legacy that Pastor Jeremy has left us! Since Pastor Jeremy’s transition out of Woodvale and into district we have seen many powerful worship services, connect group moments, and life transformations. Emmanuel Gwayumba has done a stellar job at leading our youth team, ensuring that all of the discipleship needs of our group are being met! I am so grateful for the leadership he provided for the second half of 2015, and I am also anticipating great days ahead, as we step into God’s plan for student ministries in 2016! Respectfully Submitted, Pastor Matt Schmid Student Ministries Pastor

SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND CONNECTIONS REPORT Thank you for taking time to read this report. 2015 was a very exciting year, both in the life of Woodvale and in my life personally. It has been an honour to once again serve you and God and to give 100% in all that I do. It certainly did seem that territory was taken and enlarged at Woodvale and in my ministry. I felt like I was fulfilling 1 Chronicles 4:10 when Jabez cried out to God to enlarge his territory. I do my very best on a regular basis to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of those that I oversee and the leaders that I work so closely with. Without them, our capacity to minister would be greatly reduced. Because of them ministry happens on a weekly basis and many lives are changed Please allow me to review the ministries that I oversee and take a moment to put pen to paper to thank those that work so hard. Alpha Alpha is a course for people who are exploring Christianity and have questions about God and life. The program provides an environment where people feel comfortable discussing these things. Each Wednesday evening this incredible course is offered to those who fit this category. Lakshmi is our Alpha director, and has done an incredible job in 2015, with her team, making those who walk into the room feel welcome and comfortable to ask anything they choose. The best way to introduce people to Christ is through personal invitation and I would like to remind you that you are welcome to bring a guest to Alpha, to journey with them and prayerfully lead them to Christ. Thank you to the wonderful Alpha team Susan, Stephen, Vic, Bonnie and Randy, Kenny, Ray, Fareena, Jordan, Salina, Moe and Karlene. Each week, as part of the Alpha program a meal is also provided. We so appreciate the hard work in the kitchen, and the great food that is provided. Thank you to Brenda, Gloria, Cheryl, Bill and Roberta. Follow Course While Alpha is the first step in Woodvale’s discipleship journey, the Follow Course is step two. 2015 was a year that saw us write our own Follow Course material. We assembled a team and between Jeff, Tricia and myself we were able to see this material become a reality. Every Wednesday night we have people who are willing and wanting to go deeper in their relationship with God and take the Follow course under Jeff's leadership. This is a great resource and tool for people who want to take the next step. Solo Moms On Wednesday evenings we have a great program for Solo Moms. Special thank you to Latona, Modesta and Debbie for their leadership in 2015. You have given such great care and opportunity for these Moms and their families to be welcomed, appreciated and grow spiritually together. I have heard many stories of lives being changed, and Moms feeling appreciated and cared for by their church. Follow-Connect-Serve wall In September 2015 we launched a vision that had been birthed about a year and a half prior to that. As a result, Woodvale started seeing words like Follow, Connect and Serve. These words translate into a simple strategy for each person. We want people to take the next step. The Alpha course, Follow course and water baptism. As followers of Christ we want people to Connect with one another and God through Connect groups. As followers of Christ we want people to serve. Each week when you leave the auditorium you will see the Follow-Connect-Serve wall with people there who are able to guide, direct and connect you to these areas of ministry. I want to thank each person who is on the schedule each week, at each table. Each person at a wall presents with professionalism, care, and guidance. Follow Team - Lakshmi, Kenny, Randy, Bonnie, Ray, Jeff and Dorothy Connect Team - Esther, Ruthann, Richard, Gail, Weldon and Jenny Serve Team - Cindy, Ingrid, Don and Marissa, and Kelly

Connect Groups When we started the year, January 2015, we had 38 connect groups across the city. Many people were attending them, being discipled in them, and living life together. It was our goal to have 100 groups by the end of 2015. Although we did not reach that goal, we certainly did double the connect groups that we had. We ended the year with 70 connect groups. As you can imagine with such rapid growth, it was a huge learning curve and it put a strain on our resources, but we did appreciate your patience. It was great to see so many willing to buy into Vision 2015, either by leading a Connect Group, hosting one or getting involved with one. At year end we had approximately 600 people between the ages of Senior High and up, as part of a Connect Group. There are Connect Groups for everyone, from prayer groups, breakfast groups, fellowship/relational type groups, Bible study groups, to some that just connect. God is doing a great work in the lives of many, and the stories we hear regularly, speak to what God is doing. Discipleship is happening as we follow the Biblical model for Woodvale. If you are not yet a part of a Connect Group, drop by the Connect wall or check out our website at www.woodvale.ca to narrow down your search. You can also call the office so that we can help you start your journey of “Doing life together”. Thank you to the 70 leaders and host homes, for your weekly or biweekly commitment to helping people connect. Special thank you to the area leaders who help with support and care of our groups. Kathleen, Ruthann, Richard, Esther and to Mary Anne who transitioned from area leadership in 2015 On a personal note, Connect Groups do change lives. Esther and I see it and live it as we “Do life together” with our own great Connect Group. We really enjoy hosting ours. They challenge us, help us and we just have fun together as we study Gods word, etc. Join one today!!! Sermon Aligned Curriculum and Video Each week there are a team of writers who prepare Connect group curriculum, based on the Sunday Sermon, so that groups can go deeper in the relaxed, cozy atmosphere of their home and group. To go along with this, a 5 min video is prepared as a summary of the sermon. Both of these can be found online. Thanks to Geraldine, Ingrid, Summer, Cindy and Mary Ann for your amazing work in this area. You really do enhance the Connect Group experience. Celebrate Recovery Celebrate Recovery runs for 52 weeks a year. This group is specifically intended for those who have ‘Hurts, Habits and Hang-ups’. We have an incredibly gifted team of leaders who give so generously of their time and talents to help people recover, heal and offer hope. Thank you to Weldon and Jenny who are the directors, and their team who offer great oversight and leadership to this on Monday nights. Life Groups As well on Monday nights we offer Life Groups. This past year we offered groups like Grief Share, Divorce Care, Search for Significance, Unglued, Boundaries, Fear, Anger Management, and Love and Respect. They run for approx. 13 weeks and are a great personal tool. Hal is our Life Group Director and Gail offers support and guidance each and every Monday night as well. It has been awesome to hear of the life changing stories from these Monday night ministries. Water Baptism One of the highlights of the month for me is connecting with believers who are ready to take the next step and get water baptized. Water baptismal classes are offered monthly on the last Sunday at 10:30 AM. This past year we had many people follow in obedience to Christ through water baptism. It is an honour and joy for me to lead people through the class and see them get baptized the following Sunday. If you have not yet taken the next step in your walk with Christ and need to be water baptized, please do consider that in 2016. First Time Guests and Guest Lounge People are drawn to Woodvale for many reasons. We believe that the preaching of God's Word and the working of the Holy Spirit are a very key component to this as well as the warm and welcoming atmosphere. In 2015 we put a greater emphasis on welcoming our guests. Relaying to them different ways to connect with the church and wanting our first time guests to know that we really do care for them. I loved being able to connect with each first time guest and offer them various ways to connect with others at Woodvale. Between September 11 and the end of 2015 we had 284 first or second time guests that took the time to fill out the connect card. Of those that filled out the card, 210 were either recommended or brought to Woodvale by family and friends. Please do not ever underestimate the influence that you have on your family and friends in leading them to church and/or to Christ.

As I'm sure you have heard announced every week at Woodvale, we want each of our guests to head to our guest lounge where they can connect with people and receive a free gift. I want to thank the guest lounge team for their warm and welcoming approach to each person that goes there. Thank you Hayden, Jessica, Wayne and Debbie, David, Stephen, Wes, Kelly, Tim, Matt, Ryan, and your spouses for being such a great team and for making our guests feel welcome. Missions Committee In 2015 it was once again an honor for me to serve on the Woodvale mission committee. It is great to see a church that gives so freely and generously to God's work around the world. We are able to support so many Global Workers and projects and see lives changed as a result of your giving. Thank you for your confidence in me to sit at this table and be involved in the lives of Global Workers that I help oversee. Syrian Refugee Family It is a great honour to care for and love people, and as followers of Christ we are called to do this. At the end of 2015 it was recommended and approved by leadership that we would accept a Syrian refugee family. It is a pleasure for me to be the staff liaison for this project. Please pray for this family as we do not know yet who we will be accepting, but let's start to pray blessing upon them as they arrive in Canada and in Ottawa, and are greatly impacted by the people of Woodvale. Special Thanks I really appreciate all the work that the office staff and team do each and every day. I want to take the time now to specifically acknowledge Tricia and the work that she does for me. Between the two of us we certainly oversee a large portfolio and her administrative abilities allow us to accomplish much more. As I conclude my 2015 report, I hope that I have not forgotten anyone. Please accept my apology if I have done so. In closing, I would like to take this opportunity as well to make special mention of the pastoral staff at Woodvale. Under P. Mark and Evelyn’s leadership, there is a great team pulling in the same direction for this purpose.....to see lives changed by God’s power and to see a city reached with God’s love. Family is everything!!! I would like to take a moment to thank my family for the support that they offer me, Esther is such an amazing person and so supportive, and we are so very proud of our two boys, Ethan and Isaac. Respectfully submitted, Serving both you and Him. Marvin

ADMINISTRATION REPORT 2015 Follow, Connect and Serve. These are the words everyone sees as they walk into our lobby. These are the words that represent who we are as an authentic, relational and diverse church and how we go about being that. It’s simple and direct. For me, as a person who is involved with coordinating our church from a facility perspective, I appreciate simple and direct. Pastor Mark sometimes describes our congregation as a family, a big family, and like any household we have lots of things to accomplish in order to make the space we use for our interactions functional, safe, clean and comfortable. Also, like any family, from time to time there are those who need a little extra help to make it through a period. It takes many hands to accomplish many tasks. Through this report I hope to give you an idea of who is involved, and where, as we diligently work toward a benevolent, productive and safe environment. You will no doubt see areas where you would like to serve. Let me know where your interests are. On Sunday mornings there are currently 68 people scheduled to serve on one of our hospitality teams. Some of our teams have uniforms. You will see them in their green t-shirts, clearly visible to those who may need some assistance. We are ‘Here to Serve” as stated on their t-shirts. Some wear orange safety vests and are always outside greeting us with a smile as we drive to church. Others have name tags indicating who they are and what they do. No matter what team they are on, or what their uniform looks like, they are here to serve the King of Kings. They are here to serve you. They are saved to serve. Every one of us, who is saved, is saved to serve. Are you serving? If not, keep reading. I will outline some key areas that need your help. When you see one that you can do, contact me by phone at 613-829-2362 ext. 213, or by email at [email protected]. We need you to start serving. Sunday Hospitality at Woodvale is comprised of six Teams. They are: Parking, which is coordinated by Tobi Ajila. Tobi has taken this group from 9 members at this time last year to 42 members currently. We have stepped up our Parking Team to better help us identify our guests. We have seen incredible benefit from this effort, which was implemented in July 2015. Not only are we identifying more guests, we are also providing a more efficient parking experience for everyone who drives here on Sunday. This team faithfully works outdoors every Sunday in all of the elements. You can help us accomplish Vision 2015 by simply parking where you are directed. How easy is that! Estera Dragan continues to lead our Greeting Team. The Greeting Team consists of 42 people who welcome everyone as they arrive Sunday mornings. We implemented changes to our Greeting protocol in July 2015 to help us better identify our guests and make them feel very welcome. Our Greeters are now working from the outside of the three main entryways to our church. They have green T-shirts, and green and white scarves and umbrellas when the weather is rough, to identify themselves as someone who can help. They meet guests in the parking lot, and assist them navigating the church, and give them a green guest welcome bag. This bag will help all of us identify our guests. When you see someone with a green guest bag welcome them to Woodvale. Chan Sirjoosingh coordinates our Info Kiosk Team. Our centrally located Info Desk was removed in the spring of 2015 to allow for three smaller decentralized Info Kiosk locations. The intent was to make these services more easily available. We have an Info Kiosk at each of the three primary entrances to the church. Chan oversees 26 volunteers who are ready to offer helpful information, assist people with electronic donations and sign up for events each Sunday. You will recognize them in their green t-shirts with a large “?” printed on the back. Katie Onuekwa continues to serve as our Head Usher. Our Ushering Team consists of 57 active members who faithfully serve God by serving you. In July of 2015 we implemented a few changes to our ushering protocol. These include placement at their door to be more visible to people approaching from the Lobby and maintaining a same location every shift approach, which will allow Ushers to get to know those people who come through their doors better and to be on the lookout for Guests. Tom Armour coordinates our communion servers for the main floor, and Rick McWhinnie does so for the balcony level. Lynette Zinnicker, Helen Arsenault, Dorothy Harvey, Gene Moore and Mari McLaughlin are all involved in keeping the elements stocked and prepared for communion each month. Thank you for your dedication. Don Martin leads Sunday Security. We have eight people on the schedule, but there is a requirement for 12. These folks put in a long day on Sundays, often one of the first people to arrive in the morning and one of the last to leave. They keep our people flow moving well inside the building and are equipped to assist in emergency situations. You will recognize them in their green t-shirts with “Security” printed across the back.

Our Café is well used every Sunday, with many people gathered around the tables and chairs, talking. Mary Beyer continues to coordinate our Café and the 23 dedicated volunteers who keep the café stocked and the coffee hot. As one of our hospitality Teams you will see them in their green aprons with “Here to Serve” stated on each one. Martha Navaro continues in the role of Head Librarian and provides leadership and oversight to our Church Library, and 10 volunteers. We have a very dedicated and long serving library staff as well as some new people this year. Your church library has thousands of volumes available for all ages including fiction and non-fiction. We also have some family friendly movies and children’s videos on DVD. There is lots of material to encourage you and your family or your connect group in your walk with God. Our library is a tremendous resource that is easily accessible. You can apply for a free library card at the Library, or on our website at woodvale.ca. Check the Sunday bulletin for a new Library theme each month. We have an incredible administrative team that I am privileged to work alongside. Our focus is “people first.” Our office staff grew this year. We were very glad to welcome Tricia Millar to our administrative staff in April of 2015. Tricia’s title is Administrative Assistant and she administrates our follow up process with all of our guests and all the connect cards that come in every Sunday. She also provides much needed administrative support to many of our adult ministries hospitality teams. Helen Lewis continues to serve on a part-time basis as an Administrative Assistant. Helen is a tremendous help maintaining our database; work place health and safety and assists me with coordinating volunteer building maintenance. Carol Ann Stagg is our Office Administrator. She manages our incoming call volume, our weekly bulletin and assists me with other areas including scheduling regular ministry groups, outside group room bookings, calendar updates, ordering office supplies as well as performing secretarial duties for the Pastoral Staff. In 2015 Carol Ann chose an 80% work volume. Gayle Freeburn has filled in the gap on a contract basis. Gayle brings great organizational skills and a willingness to serve anywhere. Solomon Jeyaratnam is our Finance Officer. He keeps our books in good order and manages accounts payable and receivable. He works closely with our Treasurer, Stephen Shew and beginning in 2015, David Gilstorf. Solomon also serves as our Envelope Secretary. Solomon is retiring in 2016 and I will miss him greatly. He has carried his workload extremely well and daily goes above and beyond in offering excellent care to the people of our congregation. No one knows the hours of work that willingly goes into some of the requests he handles. You will be missed in the office my friend, but at the same time I wish you all the best in this next chapter. Brenda Cassalman continues in the role of Kitchen Coordinator. Brenda keeps us organized and stocked. Gayle Freeburn coordinates funeral receptions. Thank you to all who faithfully respond to her requests for food. Throughout the week the facility side of administration is busy with everything from booking rooms to repairing and maintaining and cleaning our amazing church facility. We accomplish this through a combination of volunteer efforts and paid contractors who assist us. Our cleaning is cared for by Estera Dragan of Estera Dragan Services. She and her staff look after our cleaning needs on a daily basis. Rick McWhinnie of Chem Dry Imperial cleans our carpets on an as required basis. They use a natural product to keep scents and chemicals to a minimum. We have two contractors who look after our evening lock up and set up. Sureshkumar Kaileswaran looks after the weekends and Joel Girard covers the week day events. Our snow clearing contract is held by Greg and Mel Foster of Foster Farms. Our lawns were cared for by Dylan Chambers of Cultivate Lawn Care. Ed Hunter has agreed to take on the job of keeping our walkways cleared all winter again this season. Paul Stride has helped with many handyman and custodial jobs.

Besides the contractors we also have a dedicated group of a few people who volunteer with building maintenance. Everything from changing light bulbs in the most remote areas of the building to picking up garbage and painting classrooms. For those of you that can see what needs to be done and just do it - Thank you! Some of those amazing servants are: Ed Hunter, Tim Armour, Gord Millar, Kelly & Ray Rogers, Richard Savage, Trevor Pollard, Tony Purvis, Doug Payne, Greg Lewis, Rick Powel, Joel Girard, Cyndi Philips, Stephen Tom, Susan Tom, Henry Tom, Wayne & Debbie Mosley, Kathy Blakely, Sherry Kerr, Stephen Shew, Frank Wilson, Paul Stride, Phil Nash, Ryan Greer, Ernst den Broeder, Pat Sim, Denis Begin, Ray Gorrie, Clayton Sinclair, Caleb Farley, Tyler Wood, Kevin McGuire, Jean Wegner, Obinna Eze, Nugwa Haruna, Geraldine Cusiac, Victor Ramirez, Suresh Kaileswaran. Thank you to everyone who serves God and their church by looking after the property. Kelly Rogers and Ryan Greer both serve on our Deacon Board and share the portfolio of property. They are a great help with looking after Woodvale from a facility management point of view. This is no small task! Another area of ministry that I oversee is that of benevolence and Greg Foster continues to assist me by serving as Treasurer. In 2015 we were able to help 130 families and individuals with everything from groceries to dental care. We have coordinated several moves and provided three families with furniture. This all happens as a direct result of you being obedient stewards. All of these families were helped because you did something such as bringing in groceries for the Day of Blessing in December or letting us know of a job vacancy at your work place. Our annual day of blessing was held Saturday, December 19, this year. It is always the Saturday before Christmas. Mike & Ingrid Larocque were not able to head up our initiative in December 2015 and Lisa & Paul Goodridge stepped up to the challenge and did a great job. We delivered 73 hampers that day and another 5 the following week. Some Connect Groups were involved to get everything ready for packing and delivery. We hear stories about the amazing ways that God answers prayers and meets needs through you and your kindness to others and your obedience to Him. Together we can accomplish much more for Him. We have an IT department and as with most things at Woodvale, it is run by dedicated volunteers. Ernst den Broeder has served as our Network Administrator since 2001 and continues to serve in this capacity. In 2015 Chris Summers relocated but still helps remotely and Chisel Cantwell stepped in to serve with the PC side of our Mac / PC environment. I am very glad to these very capable and accomplished people so generously and willingly giving of their time and talents to serve t
