If a child was doing activity they would need different types of paint, card, poster etc. the equipment they would need is paint brushes, paint pots, rollers and spongers- But it depends which painting activity they are doing.

Identify risks is important because you will be able to minimise the risk. Supervision is vital because it is based on the safety of all children in the firm.
For example if a child was using scissors it important that someone supervises the child as the child might end up injuring themselves

Being an effective practitioner in helping children to learn involves being both skilful and thoughtful. Many early years practitioners shy away from using the would 'teaching to describe their work with children
Babies and young children are powerful learners, reaching out into the world and making sense of their
experiences with other people, objects and events. As they explore and learn, children are naturally
drawn to play
D5-
How play and learning are related, however, is not as straightforward as it may seem at first glance.
There is a significant body of knowledge showing that many forms of play help children to learn and to
become confident learners for the future. Research also shows that a skilled adult who interacts with
children in particular ways to enhance their learning is a crucial ingredient in children making good
progress
Play and learning
Play helps young children to learn and develop their physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young children learn to think. It is also how they learn to socialise, as children engage in learning experiences with other children and adults
