A huge thank you to Casey Wikiriwhi-Heta, a parent volunteer, who ran all the practice sessions over the last few months, and who will also co-ordinate a few more practices and performances before the end of the year. Casey was helped greatly by former staff member Viv Te Haara (currently at home being a mum), Lisa Dewes (Manager), and several terrific parent helpers on the day. Kapahaka is a huge commitment for all involved, so well done and thank you everyone. RIPPA Final You little RIPPAs! Congratulations on your outstanding victory on Saturday. Our Y3/4 RIPPA Team played the final of the Northland Schools RIPPA Competition on Saturday, against Kamo, as a curtain-raiser to the ITM Cup game for Northland, at a very wet and soggy Toll Stadium in Whangarei. The team played their best game of the season, carving up the defense to race out to a 3-0 lead at halftime. In the 2nd half Kamo came back at us hard but, the defense held strong with the opposition only managing one try in the second half resulting in a 3-1 victory. Another trophy in the cabinet. Thank you Mr Anderson (“Coach of the Year”) and Mrs Wade (Assistant Coach and Manager), and your many helpers and supporters. What a wonderful achievement! Team Members: Conway Vakatini-Harding, Alex Manuel, Kyra Te Haara, Johnny Woolley, Samantha Wakeling, Mathew Whitaker, Sade Brash, Matthew Came, Millie Brierly, Korban Whyte, Savanah Cullen, Sebastian Kashammer, Billy Greene & Bella Wade. Technology Fair There has been a buzz of excitement this week as students have shown off, to each other, their various Technology inventions. From rockets to catapults, to bird masks and wings, and space helmets and hats, everyone had a great time designing, building, experimenting, and remodeling their inventions. And then they had fun showing off their inventions to each other. Well done all! Parent Teacher Student Interviews This year we have run a competition among the classes to see who can have the best parent attendance at the interviews. The class with the greatest percentage of students with a family member in attendance at the interviews, wins a free ‘hot-chips’ lunch this week. After tonight’s interviews we will be able to identify the winning class. Thank you, parents, for supporting your child’s education by attending the interviews. Greetings to everyone who is, or has been supporting or helping our school

Kapahaka Festival Congratulations to our two Kapahaka groups on their terrific performances

at the festival on Saturday. A huge thank you to Casey Wikiriwhi-Heta, a

RIPPA Final You little RIPPA’s! Congratulations on your outstanding victory on

FOR YOUR INFORMATION Hi, my name is Maretta Hodgson, I am a Public Health Nurse based

at the school 2-3 days a week. If you have any health concerns about

your child; for example an itchy bite that is not healing and looks like

it may have become infected and you would like me to treat it. Some

other health issues I can treat are Asthma, Eczema and toileting

issues. Parental consent must be given for me to treat. If you think

this free service would be of help to you and your family at

any time please let the school or I know. I can be contacted

on 021 227 8680. Feel free to txt me if you prefer.

AG & GALA DAY 2015 Ag & Gala Day Entry form due Thursday 24th September.

So, if you are entering a sculpture, wind chime or an animal

for Ag Day then please return your Entry Form.

Sculptures can be entered into as a group or individuals.

Photography Competition – photos must be left at the

school office by Thursday 24th September. Please write

your name, age and class number on the back of the photo.

Colouring Competition – coloured pictures must be left at

the school office by Thursday 24th September.

If you are entering a calf, lamb or goat, you can get a free

bottle of Agrisea animal health tonic, available from the

school office.

Can we please have all trophies cleaned and returned

from last year’s Ag & Gala day placegetters.

We have had a fantastic response to the Mega Raffle. Please

return your tickets and money to the school office as soon as

possible. All unsold tickets please return to the school office
