THOUGHTS FROM OUR CEO

Dear Volunteers, Thank you for taking part in the 22nd Annual Chicago Cares Serve-a-thon and giving your time, energy and passion to making our city stronger. Serve-a-thon is more than Chicago’s largest day of service. It’s about building bridges and meeting critical needs. It’s about learning from each other and seeing what’s possible. This is why Chicago Cares exists. We unite and ignite volunteers through action, connecting them to new people, places and ideas. I hope that today inspires those we serve as well as each of you. Please share your stories @ChicagoCares using #ImImpact. Please also make your impact go further by texting chicares to 52000 to donate $10. Thank you for your service, your donation and your commitment. In Service, Jenné Myers CEO, Chicago Cares

7:30 – 8:30 am – Check in Check in and get your bus assignment. Then, start your day right with breakfast snacks and Starbucks coffee.

8:30 am – 3 pm – Get to work! Join us by the stage for a quick opening rally, and then board a bus to your project site. When you arrive at your project location, meet your volunteer

leaders and site representatives who will provide instructions and get you started on tasks. Don’t forget to snap some selfies and share with us using #ImImpact. When lunchtime rolls around, re-energize with a tasty boxed lunch from Potbelly.

As you complete your project, engage in a wrap-up session with your leaders to reflect on your impact. Board your bus back to Daley Plaza. 3:30 – 5:30 pm – Time to celebrate

Congratulate yourself and your fellow volunteers on a job well done. Enjoy a short program, food, beverages and live music!

Welcome to Chicago Cares’ 22nd Annual Serve-a-thon!
