the off-site infrastructure. To enhance the
marketability of the project, CIDC had invited
expression of Interest from various established
industries for setting-up their units in the park
and has received fairly good response.
The project will be implemented on Public

lease of 90 years.
In the sector of Chhattisgarh
Infrastructure, the state has developed a lot
in the field of roadways, railways and
airports.
Chhattisgarh is in the central part of the country
which is well connected by all weather roads and
comprises 12 national highways.These highways
constitute 2,289 km of roads in the region while the
state highways account for 5,240 km.
In the railways sector, state has a strong
railway network and falls under the
jurisdiction of the South East Central
Railways.
The two major railway stations in the state are
Raipur and Bilaspur. The highest freight loading
capacity in India is recorded in Chhattisgarh and
around one-sixth of the revenue of Indian
Railways comes from this state.
The state government has also planned to construct about 300
km of rail network in the region. To take this initiative ahead,
the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
with South Eastern Coalfields and IRCON International. The
main objective of the project is to have two rail corridors - East
Corridor and the East-West Corridor.
Chhattisgarh has two domestic airports and eight air
strips in Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Jagdalpur,
Ambikapur, Jashpur Nagar and Sarangarh. The Airport
Authority of India has plans to build Raigarh and
Bilaspur in the state in future.
Chhattisgarh, the developing tourist spot, has developed its
physical infrastructure to attract the attention of domestic as well as
foreign investors. The transport has been given immense focus as
the state has nearly 24,678 kilometres of national highway that
accounts for the 71% of total road infrastructure in the state.
The strong factor of the huge investment in state is the large road
network. For improving the Chhattisgarh Infrastructure, the
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to
develop five national highway projects aggregating 450 km
through private sector participation so as to meet the state's
growing transport requirements. The Asian Development Bank
will give funds to upgrade the state’s highway network.
