One Feature on this poster is that it has this small text at the top of it. It Says “From Orin Peli Creator of Paranormal Activity”. This gives the audience an idea of what the film is going to be like as it was created by Orin Peli. They should expect that the film will be filmed with the hand held cameras effect, the same as most of his films.

There is a small summary featured on this poster. It tells you that the Ukraine government have now let people come in and visit the site of Chernobyl and that they were wrong in doing so. This will automatically send thoughts to the viewers head such as, “What’s really going on there?” And “Are the characters really alone?”. This is a tactic that the creator of the poster had thought of to get the audience more interested in going to see the film. The title is then displayed “CHERNOBYL DIARIES” in large off white lettering with some dark shading on them to add a sense of spook and mystery to them.

There is a large chunk of white writing at the bottom of the poster and these are the production credits for the film. When in cinemas, the audience normally just take note the actors staring in the film. This way, the audience looking at the poster will see who spent time and money creating the film they are about to see.

The background for the image is really effective as it is very eye catching from the moment your eyes meet it. Just behind the writing at the bottom, you can see the city of Chernobyl in all its dark and mysterious glory. The tones in which the city are coloured are mostly Dark greens, Blacks and some blues. This is to give the audience the reaction of being cold and scared of this city as it is abandoned. The main focus of the background image is the large fan shaped cloud of smoke in the sky. It looks like a propeller inside a turbine of some sort. This will represent and make the audience immediately think about the Nuclear Reactors which were constructed in Chernobyl, which ignited this devastating tragedy. The cloud/smoke is in black, which stands out from the dusky grey sky which is behind it. A lot of films do have a signature symbol or image on their posters and that is something we will bare in mind when creating ours.
