The title 3-C-iodomethyl (VI), 6-C-iodomethyl (XVIb) and 6-C-iodophenyl derivatives (XVIa) of glucose are prepared on different ways via compounds (V), (XV) and (X), resp., starting from protected glucose (II) or glucuronic acid derivatives (VII).
